"Chirp, Chirp, Chirp."
"Tweet, Tweet, Tweet, Tweet, Tweet."
My ears perk at the sounds of the morning birds. I hear the swaying of the trees, gently waving as the seas beyond this place of co-existence. The winds, smooth gentle winds blow against the walls of bamboo, causing it to creak and moan, as if waking it from stillness. A feeling of solitude envelope me as I let out a pleasant sigh. I pull the covers close to me, enjoying the moment, yes only for a moment. Deep in my heart, deep in the roots of my mind, I only have one hope in mind and that is....please don't come crashing down my door.
...
...
...
I waited and waited, and waited, wondering if they will today come like any day, today, tomorrow and many days to come, drenched cold water on me, hang me from the ceiling, or move me to another place unlike this place....or worse...bugs in my bedsheets, urg, no... don't think about it. Just relax and enjoy the moment. Just the moment.
...
...
...
Eh? They aren't coming? Really? No, that is impossible. They always come up with many things to do together. Whether gathering herbs in the woods, playing hide and seek in the Bamboo Grove, fishing in the creek in the woods, or (my dismay) gathering bugs. It is everyday, day in and out, like a routine for them. They can't skip today....right? If that is the case then.... I will have a quiet day today? Really? Yes! Finally! Some peace and quiet! My moments dream have finally come! Yes! Yes! Yes! I can finally sleep! I can take a walk in the woods and not come back til the morrow.
*Chuckles*
I smiled and pull the covers over me and relax myself. Five minutes have passed. I was about to drift off when I hear a sound. It sounds like....running footsteps...and it is .... coming this way...at a fast pace.
*Grumbles*
Come on now. Not now. This is the day I have to redeem myself. Just this once. Please.
"Kuroyoruuuuu!!!!"
Leave me alone. Leave.
"Utsukushiiiiii!!!!!!"
Why me? Do you guys have anything better to do? Find someone else to play with.
The footsteps stop at my door. O no, hear it comes. That dreaded sound that wills up all of my current despair.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
Go away.
"Utsukushiiiiii!!!"
"Kuroyoru! Open the door! We got a surprise for you!"
"We found a pink bug with yellow spots on it!"
"We want to know if it is dead!"
"Uh..I think it is alive."
"Open up!*
*grumbles*
I'll ignore you as long as I have this life in me.
I countinue to ignore them.
I'll enjoy this bed, even if you drag me along with it.
"Is he even in there?"
No, he is dead. Long dead.
"He is ignoring us. Again."
"Come ooonnnn!"
"Stop ignoring us!"
"Stupid grown up!"
Moron, I am seventeen.
There was silence for a moment. I already know. I know all to well of what's next.
*Grumbles*
"We'll come back laterrrrr!"
"See you soooon!"
"Byeeeeeee!"
Here it comes. My worst nightmare.
3...2...1...
*CRASH*
"Mmmm."
Leave me alone.
"Good morning!!!"
Whhhyyy?!
Somebody landed on my side, pulling my hair. She is soft and smell like fresh turnips and tomatos. I sigh.
Orenjihana, get off. Stop pulling my hair.
I push her off me and hug the blankets close to me. Somebody then pull on my ears.
"Utsukushii, wake up. I want to see if the pretty bug is dead!"
"No, I'm sure it is alive."
Fuyumi and Toko..... I sigh more. Fuyumi stop pulling my ear. I push her away. I feel the atmosphere tensing up.
*Sighs*
Here comes the temper tantrum.
"Kuroyoru!!!!"
"Wake up, wake up, wake up!!"
The two girls earlier keep pester me, yelling and pouting while pulling on me.
*Grumbles*
Enough already.
I got up while wrapping up in my covers and went to the corner, sat down and lay on my side.
I'm ignoring you. Leave.
"Uuuwaaaa!"
"Kuro's ignoring us, wwwaaaaaa!"
"Meeaaaaniiiiieeee!"
Oo stop. Just stop. Don't give me the guilt trip.
"Not for long!"
I hear footsteps running toward me and stop behind me. A sense of dread came over me.
"Rise and shine, Utsukushii!!!!"
Suddenly, something fell on me. I don't know what it is at first but....wait is it moving?
"Aaa!"
I shot up to my feet and try to brush off the bugs. I stumbled and crash to a nearby table.
*Grumbles miserably*
"Hahahaha!"
"Kuroyoru sleeps in his loin cloth?"
"I thought you do it too, Toko."
"Uh, uh I don't."
I hear Taro's footsteps approaching me. I can feel his smirking attitude. I glare in his direction.
He bends down and pick off a bug from my face.
"Good Morning. Did you slept well?"
"....yes..."
"Good. We have a great plan today and you will be in it. Get dressed and come out."
The group left, talking about the plan today. I sigh and rise to my feet and rubbing the spot where I crashed into the table.
I then realized something. The girls....
I blushed and groaned miserably.
My peaceful moment come and went. Even though it was short, It still felt like a pleasant dream that deserve an honour.
