Chapter 20 - Chapter 19 - Restless

I feel peoples presences inside my room, a few feet away from me as I open my eyes a bit, hearing a woman's strict voice.

It's so cold.

I look around, noticing the lavender dyed sheer drapes of my canopy bed was shut, I'm now laying in my soft bed and my cream duvet is tucked on me neatly.

"I can't believe you, you made the child travel pass the gateway that almost killed her, you got a valid excuse to be not aware of the outcome, but now, I couldn't feel the child's mana at all! She was so close to dying again! The heavy energy I feel from this child right now, even I, don't know where it came from!" I blink, realizing it's the high priestess.

"You've been saying those things again and again! How would I know the portal would almost kill her if we didn't let her try it?! I just want my daughter to travel conveniently! I didn't mean to be so damn ignorant thinking black onyx casted with protection spell would be enough to keep the child safe as her father, she's out cold on the floor when I get back here." my dad argued as I gulp, chills running down my spine when a sound of the tea cup slam down the table loudly.

"She's in a deep slumber after the blessing, I'm going back to the temple, come to me if anything happens to the little lady again because of your stubbornness." the high priestess said as I feel the air drop too much, I shut my eyes when she walk closer, hearing the drape on my right slide open, a familiar yet unnaturally cold hand touch my forehead.

After awhile, the high priestess left with the door shutting close.

I feel so guilty as I carefully sit up, looking at my dad who turn my way from palming his face in frustration, he looks like he didn't got any rest at all, but in his casual clothing.

"You." he mumbled standing up and approach, his aura, why do I feel like a boiling water is approaching me instead.

My father sighed deeply and take a sit next to me on my right, I lean close and he pick me up hugging my small frame tightly and kiss the top of my head, now it's like the water become lukewarm.

"Does your hand still hurt?" dad ask, grabbing my right palm which is completely clean without the cut that I caused before.

"My hand." I mumbled as my father hum and stroke my hair.

"I feel alright, Thea is well." I answered looking up as he nod lightly and I lean against my father's chest comfortably.

My father hum as he look to the side and grab my toy bag, and I notice the labradorite ball, is now sitting neatly from where I got it last night.

"How about explain to your dad what's inside this bag? You dare steal a tanzanite from your father, the grand duke, and now you cut your palm with it and attempt an awakening ritual without letting me know, I didn't know I'm raising a scheming daughter." my father stated which made me flinch and look up to him with wide eyes.

He widen his tired eyes to mock me, which made me burst into fits of giggle while he groan rubbing his forehead, but his aura is currently bright yellow.

He's far from having a bad mood now than earlier.

My father is elemental, I can't hide anything from him, he can sense magic even by afar and wields the 4 major elements, even knowing how to use dark magic.

"Thea's sorry, daddy, I'm returning the stone, I only borrowed it for a bit." I said opening the bag and take out the journal book and showed it to my father.

I open the first page as the letters like light showed up and showed the title of the book to my father.

He read it with an impassive expression.

"Turn it to the folded page." he said and I did, showing him the illustration of the magic circle and the instructions.

"Our Thea can read an ancient language?" my father's first concern which made me frown and nod.

"I just, understand it." I honestly said, closing the book and look up to my father who's aura turn grayish yellow.

"Grey and yellow." I mumbled looking at the aura, and up to my dad who has a frown on his tired face.

"I've been seeing colors around everybody, some colors reeks unpleasant scent, some is nice, dad's aura is yellow and grey right now." I mumbled as he hummed, listening attentively.

"Your mother is not here to help you figure out how to use that ability, if there's another ritual required, inform dad first before recklessly performing another dangerous act, understood?" Dad said as I nodded immediately and wrap my arms round my dad's neck.

"Understood." I mumbled as he patted my back and he lean against the head rest.

"And never tell anyone about your ability, not until the Sectre." dad said which I agreed immediately to comply.

"Thea won't, I promise." I mumbled and dad sighed in relief with his aura turning powdery blue.

"Can you still join the hunting event and tonight's ball? You can just rest at home if you feel like it." he said as I shook my head and lean away to stand in the middle of the bed and jump.

"Thea feels alright, look, daddy." I gushed jumping as dad chuckled catching me and kissing my left cheek which made me laugh and hug my father tightly.

"If that's the case then dress up, let's get your brother and have a breakfast first." dad said as he stand up carrying me and put the journal from my hand to my bag and close it, putting it back to it' spot.

Dad walk our way to open the door, revealing Wendy, Sir Ulysses and Madame Zola who are now smiling brightly seeing me and my father as they greeted us courteously.

"Get the child ready and send her to the dining room, call Dritan for breakfast too before we prepare and go to the hunting ground." dad appointed and Wendy take me from my dad and my father pat my head gently with a smile and left to go to his room.

"What would you like to eat for breakfast, my lady?" Madame Zola asked gently as I lean on Wendy's shoulder and think.

"2 waffles, a fried egg, bacon, cheese and milk?" I mumbled as Madame Zola smile brightly and nodded.

"Then I'll appoint the chef to prepare my lady's meal, I'm glad my lady is now well." she said and excuse herself then left as Sir Ulysses hum and poke my left cheek as I look up to him.

"You scared me my lady, I'm glad you're perfectly fine now." he said as Wendy nod in agreement.

"We'll be back shortly." Wendy said softly as Sir Ulysses nod, assisting us with the door and close it to give me and Wendy some privacy while he waits outside again.

Wendy said nothing and carry on discussing what I'll wear, but I can tell by her aura that she's relief and happy.
