Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 - Erudition

It's been weeks since the banquet, we only have a week left for the trade that will happen in the capital of the empire, everyone is looking forward to it.

Right now, my father is busy with meeting the noble fraction with the Emperor at the capital, making sure no unnecessary disputes will happen especially at the port since that's the place where the ships will come from various delegates of other kingdoms.

My brother is currently training bow and arrow with his friend Paul and the rest of the scholars for the Crown Prince's up coming birthday, there will be a hunting competition and it's only applicable to the crown prince's friends and acquaintance of same age.

While I on the other hand, is currently exploring the library which is as big as the public library I use to go to in another world I used to live in.

Wendy is currently preparing my meal from the kitchen while knights are assigned to look after me, who are both standing by the door as I ask, it's Sir Ulysses and Sir Orion, both knights are excellent just next to Sir Viscount Terezia, the High Clerist.

I continue looking around the never ending aisles of books, I've already seen almost everything before, I can still vividly remember all the contents.

I made it to the very end of the library, it's the same exact window couch, it looks so comfortable just as I remember, I decided to climb up the couch and sit down.

"Akk!" I squirm and take my hand off the hand rest quickly, my right index finger got a small cut from the small chip of wood.

A light suddenly flash under the couch making me frown and get off the seat, a small compartment suddenly pop out under which made me stumble aback and landed on the floor with a gasp, the light died down, only to reveal a brown leather covered book.

I frown and weirdly feels entice, my wounded hand moving on it's own and reach for the plain looking book.

I open it and an empty pages greeted me.

"What- ah!" I yelp when gold writing started to appear, the words are written in an unknown language, and I can weirdly understand it properly.

Book of Aura.

My hands tremble, and eagerly read the pages and flipping it one by one, every time I touch the page the letters appears.

An affinity pass down to the direct female linage of the Ilia.

There's a written story about the Goddess of Light having a daughter, who fell for a mortal. The daughter was bestowed with the goddess' ability of clear sight, to clearly judge the people and avoid her from harm caused by people.

Gods and mages are in different realms, people can wield elements and magic, but never the power.

'My mother, she was a princess in direct linage of Ilia before it was destroyed by an enemy who's an insider who couldn't accept that the Gwenaelle will never give away the throne in honor of the Goddess of Light.'

The sight, it's seeing and sensing aura.

Having an aura affinity consumes too much mana to the point it takes a toll to the body of the holder, it needs to be fully awaken to be able to take full control of it and stabilize the mana consumption.

'I need to know how to awaken it.'

I continue flipping the pages till an illustration caught my sight.

A way to awaken the sight.

I feel my heart race, as I read it thoroughly.

It needs to be under the first full moon, a magic circle needs to be drawn with pure holy water from the Temple of Hyperion, mixed with the crushed red camellia, a piece of pure sharp tanzanite must be use to cut and distribute a drop of blood at the magic circle and lay down in the middle.

I groan at the too much required work, it's easy to get a holy water from the temple, it's only a carriage away but the problem is asking permission to father, I have no problem acquiring a tanzanite since father owns a mine of it and I own a necklace with teardrop shaped of it, but the red camellia, it's so rare even in this world, it only blooms from the empire from the east, and the first full moon is about to happen the night after the trading day.

Wait, the trading day, the east will participate with the medicinal herbs and rare plant, there's definitely a red camellia there.

I couldn't think of anything else except the required materials, I close the book and close the compartment.

I flinch when my wounded hand light up which made me gasp and saw the cut healing itself, till it close completely and the light from it disappeared.

W-What just-

"My lady?! My lady, where are you?!" a worried voice of Wendy echoed through the library which startled me as I pickup another books to cover up the suspicious looking book, it's the book of melodies and book of painting.

"I'm here!" I replied making a run of it, heading my way to Wendy who's looking for me with the knights in panic.

"I'm here, Wendy." I called as she turn to me and relief wash her expression then smiled brightly when she saw the books in my arms and stroke my hair warmly.

"You scared me my lady." she said while I hum and look up to her.

"I didn't mean to, can we go to the conservatory?" I ask while she nodded and take the tray of tea and desserts, Sir Ulysses and Sir Orion followed us and help Wendy with the tray while I choose to hug the books.

It took a bit of walk to reach the conservatory pass the Wisteria tree which I get use to already without a fear.

I enter and went straight to the outdoor daybed that my father purchase and added in the conservatory for me since this place always makes me so sleepy, he caught me sleeping on the chair with my head on the tea table a couple days ago.

"Sirs, have tea and sweets with Thea and Wendy." I offered using my childish side to make it less awkward for me since I hate it whenever I ate alone and all they could do is watch.

"Oh, my lady, whatever makes you happy." Sir Orion answered brightly while Sir Ulysses smile fondly just like Sir Orion, their auras are nice shade of purple and pink, just like Wendy's.

"We'll have chocolate velvet cupcakes for today my lady, and we have ice cold earl grey tea and milk just as my lady requested." Wendy said hesitantly when the tea was mentioned.

It's a strong tea, too strong for a child, my father always have this and now they think I'm only copying my father, but milk tea is something that wasn't known drink in this world.

"Cold earl grey?" Sir Ulysses ask with a confused expression, I ask for a glass of cold tea and Wendy serve only half with hesitation.

"Add milk, Wendy." I said excitedly as she hummed with a weirded expression, doing as I said as I grab a sugar cube and put it on my drink and mix it with the spoon.

Earl grey milk tea, if only I could acquire a tapioca starch to create tapioca pearls, this would have been perfect.

I take a sip and sighed at the lovely taste, I rarely have one back from the modern world since I could only keep my change and buy one every moment I could.

"Does it taste that good, my lady?" Sir Ulysses ask as I nodded eagerly "It's Thea's favorite drink, milk tea." I mumbled as they oohed and Sir Orion cleared his throat.

"Well if my lady said so then it must be the best." Sir Orion said and ask for the same mixture from Wendy and Sir Ulysses followed, even Wendy did one for herself.

They all tried it and I can tell by the way their aura turn bright yellow, they all love it.

"My lady! This taste great, where did you learn this from?" Sir Orion asked in awe while I giggled and the other two nodded with curiosity.

"I was at daddy's office, I tried daddy's drink and it was so bitter I asked for milk, the aftertaste blended well with the milk I drink, after that, Thea has been asking for milk while drinking tea together, I tried mixing it and it taste the best." I said, not lying since I've done that on my father's office couple times, trying to figure out what the drink was and just remembered.

"My lady, this is great, I don't like strong teas and this is the first time I'm drinking one, especially earl grey." Wendy said in awe while I hum and place my books on my lap and we start eating the chocolate velvet cupcakes which pairs well with the milk tea.

I grin happily, glad that some could finally enjoy what I truly enjoy genuinely and somehow clearing my mind from the stressful awakening I need to do.
