Chapter 1 - The Players

It was too early for those who were getting out of bed at that time, but for those who had not slept yet, it was too late. Claude Boulogne was sitting facing a glass window, watching his reflection, which looked back at him. He was a very handsome man: tall, dark, with curly hair; and in his 28 years, he had an athletic body like a Greek god. Behind his reflection in the window, the first rays of the sun began to appear and make the weaker stars disappear and the strongest to pale. At that time he was reading something in Latin, Auguste had the great talent of reading and speaking in several languages. He heard someone opening the door of the room, a woman came in, it was Louise Fountenable, the housekeeper, who said:

"I bet you haven't slept yet, have you?"

"Not yet. I have many things to do, my time is too precious to lose him in his sleep."

"I'll make you a special breakfast."

"I need you to do it for two, please."

"Why? Did you have any guests tonight?"

"No, of course not. A good friend of mine is coming to visit me."

"Leave it to me."

While she was preparing coffee, Auguste went for a shower and a change of clothes. This happened several times a month, he could not stand the idea of sleeping; getting to stay three or four days straight awake, and when he slept, it was always during the day, or when it rained at night. Auguste had begun his career as a history teacher, but after a few days he began to devote himself to research and write books. His last works was about history, languages of and astronomy. About two months he was writing a column for the most important French newspaper: Le Mond. In the last few days, he was behaving very different of his normal. When he went down to the dining room Miss Fountenable wanted to know why.

"Mister Claude, I have noticed that in these last days you have been very different."

"More than the usual?"

"A little more. What happened?"

"A lot has happened, but I think no one see."

"Why?"

"Some of them do not want an others because cannot do it."

"Is it more one of your controversial books?" Jean Claude had stayed famous for publish books were he had correcting some history errors.

"Maybe this will be the most controversial of all the books I wrote. You know that I've already fixed the history of the Catholic Church, the history of the Bible and the history of Christ. Now, I will write the history of the humanity."

Louise Fountnable was a pretty woman. She wasp for 4 years old and was accustomed to reading before the others what his boss was writing. Sometimes, she was sought by the press, who offered her money in exchange for information about the news works of the past famous writer. Before publishing a work, Jean Claude was very excited, euphoric and Miss Fountnable become accustomed to it, but he was different from everything she had ever seen.

"I'm interested in your work because of the enthusiasm which I see you talked about. But, I honestly cannot see any enthusiasm in your last words.

"Sincere words? I'm not even a little enthusiastic to write this new book.

"Why you will write it? You have many other good ideas to write."

"Because it is a duty with all humanity."

"Why?"

"This idea does not get out of my head since I was 16. Thus, I started to research on this subject."

"Wath subject?"

"The alien hypothesis."

A large number of housekeepers passed by Mr. Claude's house; but he did not want a person who only prepare the meals and take care of the house, but he wanted someone who could talk to him; in this case no other housekeeper had been as well as Louise who was intelligent and love to know. Although she knew her boss well, the last words of him made her stun.

"I don't know nothing about this subject." She said.

"At all?"

"Maybe not, I know two or three things that you have been taught me in these last days."

"And do you believe in it?"

"I cannot say anything about it, I don't have sufficient information that I like. I would like know more."

Jean will explain when somebody knocked at the door, it was his friend Petru coming for breakfast.

"Petru, my friend!"

They have been not see each another many months ago.

"Prientenul meu bum Jean Claude!" He greeted him in Romanian.

"Înca nu vorbesc atât de mult limba română!"

"Friend mine, you are speaking Romanian as well as I."

They greeted each other and go to the dining room. Petru Cer Albastru was a famous Romanian scientist and have been worked for a long time at the SETI (Search Extraterrestrial Intelligence) during 15 years but he could never received not only a sign of the Universe that could prove the Extraterrestrial life. After so much of research, he not believed on this idea and was totally contrary to his friend Jean Claude.

"Friend, I saw the great deal of sales of your ebooks."

"Did you know that I have won a prize of the most sold ebook in Europe?"

"Yeah, I read it on Ceşelesta. I have been read all column that you have been written to the Le Mond."

"And what do you think about? Do you like it?"

"Sincerely? Neither a word."

Jean Claude was upset. At all time he knew his friend Petru, he had never heard such these words of his best friend.

"Why?"

"Take your manuscripts and read above your last texts. you didn't write anything but the alien hypothesis."

"My dear, you know more than all I believe in it, and you were one of my best partners in this case. What happened with you?"

"I spent 15 years of my life searching about this, I never listened anyone or anything on the Universe. This is what happened."

"I am disappointed."

"I cannot understand why." Petru still didn't know the reason for the meeting."

"I need your help if you want help me."

"For what? Will you write a book telling this idea?"

"Sure, I will. I was thinking about the possibility of you helping me. We made several trips to places of interest. Do you remember all those objects that we have seen that science cannot explain?"

"All things can be explained."

"But explanations that nobody wants to believe."

When Jean understood his partner could not help him, he was not just sad, he was disappointed, but he wouldn't give up easily.

"I need you to write this new book."

"Both we know you have others good stories to create chaos in the media."

" This book could be different. Truly, this book will be different."

"What do you mean?"

"Petru, my dear friend! I'm rewriting the first chapters of the human history. All years that the Academic history do not want to admit and explain. If all human history had happened in 24 hours, we would only know the last 1 minute, or less than it."

"Even with all historical and scientific knowledge we have?"

"Information that is in well in front of our eyes and however many people do not want to accept. The books that can tell the truth about our story are erected in all the world."

"We cannot read books that never has been written."

"I have heard you say that these books were lost."

They finished the breakfast and Jean Claude asked Luise take out the table. They goes to the Jean's library; that was the most beautiful room in that mansion. The bookcases covered all the walls and filled with books with a unique exception: a bookcase standing behind Jean's chair. That bookcase are occupied by meteorites, precious stones and a few other objects that Jean liked to make collections. He sat down, offered a chair for his friend and continued:

"Petru, I must to tell you even if you don't believe any thing I say, even you don't agree with what I agree, I need you to be part on this research."

"I don't know if I can help you, I don't agree with this hypothesis."

"And this make your help more precious."

"Will it be?"

"It will be like a game. I'll try to prove you that the alien hypothesis is right and you will try te opposite."

"And it's will be your book?"

"Did you saw already anything like it?"

"No, I didn't saw it in all my life. I think that will be unprecedented."

"All things are unprecedented till someone with courage do it. Isn't it?"

"I need agree with you; and what you want to do?"

"I don't know yet, I think could be interesting we were visit all the evidence left by the primordial gods."

"I remember when we were at Chichen Itzá. What was the name of that Pyramid?"

"The Castel. Do you remember Machu Picchu? The Egyptian Pyramids? I'll think about our travel itinerary."

They were talking about some time. It was interesting because even a disagreeing ever of each other, there was respect between them. After the lunchtime, Petru said:

"You are the writer, you choose where we will go, however, our first destiny I'll choose."

"Of course, where we will go?"

"Wonderful! Make your suitcases! We will go to Peru to see the Nazca Lines!"
