"Hey Mary, boss is calling you." said the petite girl with strawberry blonde hair and baby blue eyes, Rachel, my junior. Behind her stood her 'friend', Cynthia with an irritated expression on her face like I was some sort of annoying bug.
'What does that fatso want now, I swear if he's going to give me someone else's work, I'll kill him.'
That's what happens when you're the 'nice' person at the company.
'lazy bastards.'
Being the daughter of a hotshot model and equally famous attorney, Rachel was quite the hot topic at the company, many praising her for having it all. The looks and the 'smarts'. Meaning she was treated as the princess around her. In other words, a freeloader.
'I honestly think she's just an airheaded bimbo', but it's not like everyone can get what they want through their mommy and daddy's connections.
With that tiny heart shaped face of hers and that sickly sweet voice of hers, heads always turned towards her, be it men or women.
"Yes, I understand. Will you please proofread and send these to Patty at HR, I mean these are the reports that you were supposed to finish.". She looked at me like I was crazy and I just dropped the 'Earth is flat' bomb on her.
'What excuse are you going to use now? Please don't make one and do your own work. Take pity on me if you're a nice person.'
"Sure Mary, I'll just tell Katie and Michelle to go ahead and have lunch without me." Rachel said with a pitiable expression.
'This bitch. Ah no, I can't blame her, what did I even expect in the first place, of course you wouldn't do it. What do you even get paid for? Was it lunch break already? No wait, did she really have to play the pitiable person here?'
From behind Rachel, Cynthia was livid.
"Really Mary, can't you even do this much! You're telling Rachel to skip her lunch and do this?" Her voice rose a few octaves saying that last line.
'So sue me.'
Some looked at me with excitement at the prospect of drama, others with displeasure. It wasn't a secret that Rachel and her 'friends' didn't like me.
'Considering all of her 'friends' would take any and every chance to kiss up to Rachel to get brownie points.' I snorted thinking that.
'Friends my ass, more like sycophants.'
Was it because I accidentally ruined her designer clothes by spilling my coffee on her or was it because of the fact that I said her hair was 'blonde' and forgot the 'strawberry'.
'Must be because of my big mouth.'
"Weren't you on a diet?."
'Yep, it's definitely because of my big mouth. I'm sure now. I bet she's cursing my sole existence right now. Don't worry, I also curse my existence.' Her expression changed, she had a tight lipped smile and her eyebrows were repeatedly twitching.
'I know I shouldn't but...'
"Oh my Rachel, are you alright you look sick", I said softly, adding fuel to the fire. Her face contorted horribly.
'Pfft, she looks like I killed her parents, haha. Forget it, I should stop teasing her and go and see what boss wants lest she makes my office life any more miserable.'
"You know what Rachel, forget what I said, you should probably go and have lunch and take some medicine and rest, It's not like you have a lot of work to do." My sickly sweet voice oozing sarcasm.
'Ah, there it is that shitty smug smirk of hers.'
"Are you sure, I don't mind doing it." She said with fake concern, I was almost awed at her level of acting. She could dominate Hollywood at this rate. 'Why am I not surprised? But does she seriously have to do this now?'
"Yes, I'm sure. You should go and have eat. I should probably go and check what boss wants. Have a nice lunch then." I said with an overly cheery tone.

I got up and went towards boss' office. Looking at the large wooden door whose 'wood was imported from Brazil', I had a bad feeling. I had an impeccable sixth sense which was the only thing I was proud of. On the front of the door on was written "Roy Langford" and "Department Head of the Publicity and Marketing Department" was written was beneath it.
'Did I do something wrong today? Ah whatever, let's just do this.'
Knock, knock, knock.
"May I come in Sir?"
"Yes Miss Louise, come in."
Mr. Langford's office was filled with framed certificates of his qualifications and there were documents on his desk everywhere. The man himself was a short and stout person with a balding head. His chubby cheeks were red and there was a sheen of sweat on his forehead due to the malfunctioning air conditioner and the temperature was rather warm today.
"You asked for me Sir?" Roy Langford was a total asshole.
'But since he's the one currently managing my paychecks I should at least try to be civil. Yes, civil. At this rate I should probably get the award for Persevering Against Assholes'
"Haha Ms. Louise you're straightforward, that's a good quality. I'll also be rather straightforward than. So sit down please." Fatso's belly fat jiggled while he laughed.
'How much did he eat to get that fat, no, more importantly,'
"Thank you Sir."
'Just get on it with it, I'm hungry. I didn't even have lunch today and watching you just makes me less hungry.'
"Well then here goes, you are a hardworking employee and are diligent, it saddens me to say this, but as of today Ms. Louise, you're fired"
"Yes thank yo- wait WHAT?"
