Chapter 3 - Lifelike Masterpiece Automata

Dark and growling thunderstorm loomed the sky. Ebraham braved the weather and brought the young woman to the nearest stake. The stakes received magical energy from the ground, manipulated it into barrier and emitted the barrier to the sky. There should be a vertical barrier around it that stretched from the ground to the sky.

"Oh…"

When the young woman reached the stake, Ebraham noticed something. The stake was too big. It was humongous! The stake was sixty percent buried, leaving only forty percent as the stump. But even that it was still humongous. With the young woman as a clear human-size comparison, Ebraham truly realized that the stake was exaggeratedly humongous.

A young woman floated above the ground, shielded by spherical 'Aegis' barrier. Tall verdant ancient trees shadowed above her. Then there was a black pillar towering above the ancient forest, 8km tall scraping the cloud and sky. Levelled with mountain peak. It glinted blood red when kissed by sunlight.

The supposed vertical barrier was also exaggerated. The land it covered was 100 km radius around the stake. That was almost as big as a small empire. Ancient primordial beasts were also forcefully expelled from the area creating a safe-haven for human and normal animal habitat. And there were eight of such safe-haven in this planet.

"It should have been was small enough"

Ebraham reflected on his actions. Other than the pillar, the axes were also gigantic. Three floating 'islands' were clearly visible from the pillar at three directions. Everything that he thought was small was actually very big. Everything that he thought very small was still big. Ebraham estimated that this planet should be 1.5 times bigger than Krudianheim, his original world. And his current size was also the main factor he could not correctly perceived proportion.

To solve this problem, he needed a reference and perspective that he was familiar with. But before that, he needed to give the young woman medical attention.

After a thorough examination was done, Ebraham concluded that this young woman was poisoned magic particles or 'magic-poisoning'. Her body that was absence from any magical energy, was suddenly exposed to a raw harsh magical energy in the atmosphere. This shocked her body and caused it to enter a state of shut-down.

This was a simple problem. She just needs to be supplied with mild processed-magic until her body adapt and recover. However, Ebraham was still frowning.

There were two other lives inside of her. This young woman was pregnant, to a twin to boot. She was one third of her term and the babies was still developing.

During her treatment she would be in comatose state for a long period of time. That would endanger her babies. The normal practice in this dilemma was to either save the mother or save the babies. In case the baby was still in development phase and could not survive if saved, the mother was given priority.

Ebraham was in dilemma. But suddenly he realized something. He did not have to follow the normal practice. He could save both the mother and the children.

The main cause for this dilemma was not that the mother was comatose, but the lack of facilities to support comatose pregnant mother. With his knowledge and current capabilities, he could just create them himself.

Ebraham hastily craved a chamber in the pillar and took the young woman inside. At the centre of the pillar, he took some of the dark blue magic liquid that the pillar extracted from the planet. It was dense but in liquid state like mercury. Just a few drops were needed.

He processed the magic liquid into the milder version. The dense magic liquid loosens and expanded, increasing in its volume. From the few drops, it turned into a large bubble of magic liquid.

Ebraham gently submerged the young woman into the cyan magic liquid. The mild magical energy would slowly merge with her whole body until she was had fully adapted. Inside the magic liquid, she could still breath in oxygen as the liquid was not essentially water. So, that was not a concern for her well-being.

After no side-effect was found, Ebraham nodded with satisfaction, but then sighed in dismay.

The amount of magic liquid he made was much more than the amount required. It seemed like the young woman was floating inside a lake instead of a Medical Capsule.

So, Ebraham casted aside the excess magic liquid and changed its shape into a rectangle, neatly encompassed the young woman's body. He had used a property changing magic technique that make magic liquid hold its shape. With this he completed a basic Medical Capsule.

With the urgent problem cleared, Ebraham could finally solve his personal problem.

He planned on making the thing he most familiar with, an automata. And by controlling it, he could have a perspective of a human, solving his gigantification problem.

Ebraham first checked the materials available. There was a lot of valuable metals and magic crystals extracted when he drilled the crust of the planet. Mithril, Orichalcum, Adamantine. All of these valuable metals were tough and an excellent base for automata.

In the previous life, Ebraham preferred to used Mithril for its properties of magic conductivity as he was more of a magician than a warrior.

However, Ebraham decided to use the Blood Obsidian. This mythical stone was an ideal material for a universal-purposes automata. It was tougher than Orichalcum, but easily moulded with help of Blood Obsidian energy. It was smoother in magic conductivity compared to Mithril. It contained denser and higher quality magical energy incomparable to any magic crystal. It was the best material.

Ebraham used the Blood Obsidian itself for the skeleton and the Reasoning Core. Then, he created the Magic Fibre and Magic Skin using the Blood Obsidian energy. It was very compatible. The created Magic Fibre and Magic Skin were very close to the structure of human muscle and skin.

Ebraham was astonished. He knew that there will be an improvement in his ability, but this was much higher than he thought.

Ebraham paused for a while and thought of something.

He then continued to use everything he got to complete the automata. Be it his knowledge, experience, magical energy and effort, he poured 200 percent of it into his work. He tried to make a complete human being with all of its cells, tissues and organs.

From digestive system, respiratory system, to reproductive system. Ebraham even transferred the whole energy from the 20 km pillar into his work. Time went by, bit by bit and only ended when there was no more Blood Obsidian energy inside the pillar. The pillar's signature red hue was gone, only glistening black remained.

"Haah~"

Ebraham ended his work with a sigh and a big smile.

The human that he tried to make was not perfect. Even with the flood of energy converted into matter, his creation was only 90 percent similar to human and never pass that.

Ebraham was very happy. His hypothesis was proven. He could never able to make human. Even if he were to use real human parts and assembled it again, he would at most reach 95 percent similarity. Never 100 percent. He noted it down. Law of Heaven: Creature cannot do Creator's work.

"That damned spirits claimed to create human. They just combined human parts and create monster instead"

Ebraham reminded of his enemies that turned sacrificial human into Legion, a pile of mass made from body parts, during the Human – Spirit War. While taking a deep breath, he ignored the unpleasant memories and focused on his work instead.

The human that he tried to make was not perfect, but it was an excellent automata.

Ebraham controlled the Reasoning Core, the most important component that control the actions of the automata. By controlling this core, part of Ebraham's consciousness would reside in the automata, making it into his second body.

During his peak, Ebraham controlled the whole battalion of automata and golem. Controlling one was easy as pie to him.

Ebraham purposedly left out the Intention Analyst and the Imprint Converter, the second and third most important components in the automata.

The function of Intention Analyst was to break down order sent by the owner, analysed the true intention meant by the owner and transferred the true intention to Reasoning Core to translate it into actions. Since Ebraham will be controlling the automata himself, such function was not needed.

Installation of Intention Analyst was the mile stone in creation of full-automatic automata. Before a complete Intention Analyst was created, automata could only do a certain amount of pre-recorded set of actions. And the order must be precisely referred to which set of actions or it will ignore the order.

At that time, automata were usually in semi-automatic state which Ebraham and other researchers partially controlled the Reasoning Core and recorded additional set of actions by doing it them self.

There were also full-manual automata like the automata that had Ebraham just completed. Its movement was finer and more natural than full-auto and semi-auto automata. Ebraham controlled it and did dangerous experiments that were harmful for human to complete. He also preferred to use this type of automata during difficult battles.

After the completion of Intention Analyst, the previous practices were still applied when controlling automata. Although full-auto automata could complete precise actions from the order, it lacked natural instinct that was needed in battle. If Ebraham's battalion of automata was analysed, his generals were full-manual automata, his team leaders were semi-auto automata, while his foot soldiers were full-auto automata.

The third most important component in automata was Imprint Converter. Its function was to refuel the magical energy inside the automata. It absorbed the magical energy from any sources and converted it into the owner's signature magical energy pattern called Owner's Imprint. But such function was not needed, since Ebraham could transfer Blood Obsidian magical energy through Blood Obsidian. And other magical energy sources were minuscule compared to Blood Obsidian.

The automata were modelled after his body at his 50s. He kept his beloved neat beard on him. Ebraham made a few tests moves and found no anomalies. It was just like when he controlled other automata but with smoother control and better experience. However not better as his own body, just like he had expected.

"Ah. As expected, having a corporeal body is much more convenient"
