Ruby's words floated. She realized that something was wrong with what she just said.
Seeing her daughter suddenly mute, Emmy couldn't help but smile. Emmy knew what was on Ruby's mind without even having to ask.
"Mom, is he...?"
Emmy nodded. "It seems your hunch was right, ruby."
"But, ma'am...."
Emmy quickly got up without bothering to wait for Ruby to continue.
"Mom, where are you going?!" Ruby asked nervously to herself. She reflexively put her soup bowl back on the nightstand, then prepared to follow her mother. However ....
"Ouch!" shrieked Ruby. She fell back onto her bed. She rolled around like a child playing on the bed.
"Oh my God, Ruby! What happened to you?!" cried Emmy frantically.
