Still sipping coffee and snacks made by Emmy, Reino tried to overhear what Ruby and her mother were arguing in the kitchen. He vaguely heard the words 'just accept it' and 'mother likes it' which Reino quickly concluded as a sign of approval from Emmy regarding the continuation of Ruby's relationship with him.
Even though it's still just an assumption, for some reason Reino couldn't hide his relieved smile after hearing Emmy agree that his daughter had a love affair with Reino.
Reino quickly took out his cell phone from his trouser pocket. He typed a series of sentences in the notes column which he linked to the calendar. The 25th of next month is Reino's birthday. He would use that special moment to confess his feelings for Ruby. If necessary, Reino would propose to the girl directly. After all, he's already got Emmy's blessing, right?
Reino reflexively grabbed his hair.
