She kicked the door but nothing happened. Running to the door she pushed it with her left shoulder and hand.
"It ain't opening! Ah!" Stella groaned in pain. She took the biggest rock she could find by the lake and now she is going to the back of the house.
"Let's break the window then." Stella said and throw the rock with all her might. The glasses broke into pieces. It was wide enough for Stella to go inside but the pieces of glass which were still hanging by the side, was a problem indeed.
She tried her best to be careful and not get injured but to no avail. After a while a sharp piece of glass got pushed inside her hand. Blood started to flow. She got deeply injured. But this wasn't the time to think about herself so she did not cared that and went inside anyways.
"Zach, Zach wake up." she shook him slightly and he didn't answered.
What should I do now, she thought.
Finally, after a moment an idea hit her up.
She went to the streets and started looking for a taxi. She can't find one though. She couldn't use her car because if anyone sees her in the hospital with a boy she'd be a dead meat for sure.
"Taxi!" she asked and it came near her.
"Hey uh mister, can you help me to carry a patient to the hospital, please?" Stella said as fast as she could.
"Of course." saying the driver got out of the car and followed Stella who was running in front of him.
Stella went inside and opened the door as the taxi driver couldn't get inside by the window. They pulled Zach by hands and feet. Made the way to the taxi then make him lay on the back seat somehow.
"Please hurry to the closest hospital." Stella told the driver.
---
After a short while they pulled Zach again and made him lay down on a bed.
Called the doctor to see what happened to Zach.
They took him inside to check.
"Thank you so much mister...." Stella wanted to know his name.
"It's Peter."
"Mr Peter, thanks a lot." Stella smiled.
"It's my pleasure. You know.... that's my Zach. I wasn't sure at first but now I saw his face and finally recognized."
Stella gave him a questioning look as she knows that Zach has no one.
Mr. Peter started explaining, "He was crying inside a forest once he was a little boy when I found him. I had looked after him for 9 years. But then one day I scolded him for looking and crying for his parents all the time. He says that they are alive but they died that day. I had heard the news of their house burning." Peter took a deep breath and started again, "You know if he actually roam around here and there to get his parents back, he could get lost. And I didn't want him to be alone in this cruel world. He's always sitting in the darkness, recalling all his memories or we should call that nightmare. Those never let Zach be in peace."
Stella is so close to crying by hearing all these. She is trying to feel how it felt like. Even though she could feel almost half of the pain Zach had but Zach had way more pain than anyone could ever think of.
"He even tried to jump off the cliff twice when he was 11. When I asked for explaination he just used to say- I wanna die! I wanna see my parents. I tried my best to make him feel good, used to play with him whenever I got time, also we used to go watch a movie almost every month. He's more like my son. But one day, out of my anger, I accused him that he is actually the reason why his parents died and they are better without him! I never thought how much it had hurt him. He was a teenager, the day he left me and decided to be on his own. I was so worried for him as he had a habit of drinking when he was 12. But I kinda was relieved for Ma..."
The doctor arrived and so Peter stopped.
"How's Zach Mr Johnson? Is he alright?" Stella asked him with tension in her eyes.
"He's not alright. He had so much depression. Also had alcohol in his blood, his blood pressure got both high and low. In a serious problem. You can take him home but need to make sure he gets these medicines time to time. And please try to make him feel relaxed. Make him sit down in fresh air, in the middle of nature sometimes. Tell him to take deep breaths."
A nurse helped Zach to walk and came in front of them. Mr Johnson showed Zach how to take deep breaths sometimes.
"Like this, inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale ."
Zach holds Stella's hand, "Let's go." He brought her outside the hospital.
Stella let's go of his hand and said that she'll be back.
She went to Mr Peter and said, "I'm so sorry, actually he isn't alright now and needs rest. I'll talk to you later. Do you have a phone?"
"Yes, yes."
Stella took his number then left saying goodbye. Then she came running to Zach, "Now let's go Zach." She gave a lovely smile that melt his heart and made him forget all the headache.
They found another taxi and headed to the lake and bought those medicines from a store close to the lake.
