Throughout the journey, Neil gripped Lia's fingers tightly because he felt it was an emergency. The girl remembered about her family, about the days of blind spots that couldn't be touched. He could never imagine what it would be like to miss someone he never even met?
"I am alright. You can let go of your hand right now." Lia wiped her tore, between the snot that didn't stop flowing. Now she was fanning her face, hoping that it would control the torrent of tears that were pouring down her face.
But Neil insisted. "I know how you feel. Even though I still have a family, and even though I still have parents, on many occasions, I can feel very lonely. Even I feel alone amid the crowd, and I feel abandoned by my own family."
Lia stared blankly at Neil, slowly devouring the facts as well as the possibilities that could have happened. "Did your parents often leave you alone?"
"Often," Neil nodded. "They put their career and work first."
