Lia came out of the bathroom with swollen eyes. She didn't care if it became a question for other people. She wasn't going to cover it up, but maybe she could find some other reason than the fact that she was sad because she wasn't pregnant yet.
Neil was still in the TV room, still focused on a few shows that no longer interested him. Lia's arrival attracted more of his interest. The man then stood up, smiled, and invited Lia to come closer. "You're done? Is everything fine? You've been in the bathroom for long enough."
"Yeah, everything's fine." Lia had wanted to take the seat farthest from Neil, but unfortunately, Neil gave her a place right beside him. So Lia moved awkwardly. "You're not coming home? It's getting late."
"I'll be home soon. I just wanted to make sure you were okay before leaving."
