"Then if I asked you if you wanted to marry me, what would your answer be?" Prince Aerus's whisper was warm yet piercing. Even though it was a proposal again, the situation was different. Prince Aerus would be leaving!
"I… I don't know."
"You still insist you don't know even though you're blindly jealous?" Prince Aerus' tone was mocking. He would stir up pain in Lia's heart, the fear of being abandoned and dumped. That way Lia would be aware of her feelings.
"I'm not jealous," Lia lied. Now she was comfortable because Prince Aerus was hugging her. At least that's a sign that he still liked Lia.
"If you are not jealous then I will be free to marry the girl prepared by father."
Lia's body turned around after removing the circle of Prince Aerus' arms around her stomach. "Don't threaten me."
"I'm not threatening you."
