Chapter 37 - The Pride of Prince Aerus Which Was Too High

"LIA, STOP REJECTING ME!"

Prince Aerus' screams had almost made Hamdi's heart explode, along with his body stiffening from shock.  His legs were almost paralyzed as if all his bones had melted or maybe shattered into very small pieces.

"Pri – Prince?"  Hamdi's voice trembled for a very brief moment.  He didn't mean to show his surprise.  However, his reflexes were more in control.  He did not expect that his voice that came out of his throat was a speech full of signs of cowardice.

But who didn't?  Just a moment ago Prince Aerus looked calm.  His eyes were closed, though his face was cold.  There was no sign of any movement from Prince Aerus's body as if he was fast asleep amidst his annoyance over something mysterious.  But seconds later, shorter than a single breath, a booming sound filled the cabin.  Prince Aerus shouted, in his very terrible baritone voice.

It shook almost all parts of the plane, including Hamdi's body.  His skin had even turned white, as white as the flight clothes he was wearing.

Although he was afraid and doubtful, Hamdi finally asked, "Is there a problem, Prince?"  At that time, Hamdi wanted to curse because he wanted to obey the orders of Prince Aerus, who asked him to accompany the prince to travel the galaxy alone without any other escorts.

If only Hamdi had refused or at least offered some advice, maybe he wouldn't have been this troubled.  On the official galactic journey, usually, the servants and bodyguards would join the galactic journey.  That way they would take care of Prince Aerus, by fulfilling all his requests and also handling him when he was in anger.

On an official galactic journey usually, a royal butler would accompany them.  The butler's name was Sands.  He was an old Elfagos who served with the kingdom for a long time.  He was also quite old, and he had more ways and also the courage to deal with Prince Aerus.

But Hamdi was alone.  He was stupid to predict things that could happen in the future.  He's not good at predicting.

He stood up anxiously especially when he saw Prince Aerus' eyes that were already splashing red at the corners.  The red color immediately spread quite quickly, although a few moments later it stopped as if it had frozen.

Hamdi immediately took the opportunity.  He again asked after guessing randomly, "Did you fight with Lia?  Did Lia reject you again?"  Hamdi was awkward after that because he felt he had meddled in too many private matters belonging to Prince Aerus.  After all, he was lowly in Hexa.

Prince Aerus groaned.  He looked up at the roof of the cabin and then covered his eyes with his wrist.  Again, it was Lia's face that came to his mind.  He missed her, but the rejection he received had made anger overwhelm him.

"She always does, doesn't she? She always rejects me."  The disappointment was noticeable in Prince Aerus' voice, which was filled with emphasis as well as a snort.

Hamdi finally got a clue.  This was about the love of two young people, who had found conflict after conflict during their love.  "I'm not very familiar with humans, Prince.  But after a few days living on earth, I can tell that most women like gentlemen.  They love to be treated well, to be appreciated, and also to be protected."

Several fears ran through Hamdi's heart.  He remembered that his opinion might only bring him harm because he had indirectly criticized Prince Aerus' harsh and violent behavior.  Ordinary people didn't seem to have the right to it, especially if it was delivered directly, rather than through an intermediary.

But surprisingly, Hamdi's opinion was received positively by Prince Aerus.  The prince answered in a frustrated tone, not anger.  "I know.  I know that I was very bad for her, either before or maybe until now.  But I'm trying to change myself.

"I've touched her gently.  I even mention her name every time we make love.  I treat her well, Hamdi.  But she keeps rejecting me.  All she does is reject me.  She loves Neil more. She has betrayed me.

"I found strands of black hair in my hair, I've found them.  And at that time I was very angry, and also disappointed.  I don't know how this will turn out anymore.  Lia doesn't want me, and it will be very difficult to approach her."  Prince Aerus closed his eyes tightly.  He gritted his teeth silently.

In his heart, he said, 'Do I need to change myself into Neil?  Do I need to change my face and appearance like Neil?  So that she would touch me and so that she would look at my face a little longer?  And so that she would hug me first?' All those suffocating feelings filled Prince Aerus' heart, and it turned out to be very painful.

He had never felt that way just for the sake of a girl.  He would feel pain if he lost a family member, or if he lost a soldier while fighting on the frontier.  But in the midst of it all, he kept his softest feelings hidden.

He could still maintain a very strong personal mask on him, to this day, when he told Hamdi his grievances.  He felt that only Hamdi could talk to him for now, and Hamdi was the most experienced person who could provide him with a solution.

Hamdi was very careful before he gave advice.  He didn't want to be casual, considering who Prince Aerus was, in terms of his level of social status and also in terms of his fairly high temperament.

"Prince, if you want to approach Lia then do it slowly.  I don't mean to look down upon you, I'm just giving advice.  So I hope you won't misunderstand my point."

Prince Aerus snorted, not seeming to agree with Hamdi's idea.  "If I do it slowly then she will run away from me.  She already has a man she loves.  I… I need to have a child, Hamdi, as soon as possible."

In front of Hamdi, Prince Aerus used the excuse of his duty as a shield.  Namely, the task was given by his father so that he soon had a child.  Prince Aerus had already realized his feelings for Lia, but he was still too arrogant to admit it in front of others.

Hamdi was now frowning.  He didn't understand Prince Aerus's thoughts.  "If it's only about a child, Prince, then you don't have to worry about Lia's refusal.  I don't mean to be rude, but after all this, I'm sure that Lia will be pregnant soon.

"So why should you be so anxious and frustrated?  You just have to wait, then just keep Lia's pregnancy."

Prince Aerus rose from where he was lying.  His face looked confused, he tried to find reasons so that Lia's refusal sounded wrong to Hamdi's ears, and so Hamdi helped Prince Aerus to find a way for Lia to fall in love with him.

He pondered, a moment later he said, "But… but if Lia still rejects me, are you sure that she will still keep my future child in her womb?  Are you sure Lia won't abort it?"

Prince Aerus glanced at Hamdi, observing as closely as possible Hamdi's expression nervously.  Not long after, Prince Aerus's face lit up when he found Hamdi starting to realize the truth of Prince Aerus's fake fear.
