Forgetting the thin strands surrounding her body, Eleny froze when she found Garl standing in the doorway of her room. The woman couldn't think straight, or even utter a few reasonable words.
For example, "Why did you get here?"
"Where did you come from?"
"Did you sneak?"
Or maybe, "Are you just my imagination?"
Yeah, it looked like the last question didn't need to be said anymore by Eleny. What's the point of her asking and answering her own heart? That she sometimes still imagined Garl coming back.
Swallowing saliva, Garl trembled the first time he saw such a beautiful thing. So long they'd been dating he'd only ever kissed Eleny on the lips, as the highest part of their routine of sincere feelings. Garl never did more than that, or maybe went even deeper.
