When Leo woke up he awoke to a dark room. He had no idea as to how long he was out when noticed that he could clearly. It was like he was using a night vision goggles except he could see small details like hidden cameras in the corners of the room. He had noticed earlier that his head was no longer restrained and his face felt crusty. Then while he was looking around he heard a voice say,"Master, your'e finally awake". Leo was shocked by the voice and immediately searched the room for the source of the noise. A different voice, slightly more feminine than the first, spoke up and said,"You won't find find us that way master, close your eyes and then look around". Leo was taken aback by the contradiction the voice had made and was also scared of the fact that two voices had spoken to him out of nowhere and he didn't remember becoming master of anything. With no better option he did as the voice said and immediately saw two people around 20 years old. One was a boy with a resting scowl and medium length jet black hair. The other was a girl with a cheery expression and long snow white hair. Each of them had a pistol on their side, the same color as their hair, and is seemed like the pistols were chained to them.
The boy spoke up first,"My name is Oliver Evan and this is my younger sister Star Evan. We were wandering souls and heard a king's call. We bound ourselves to you and gained these pistols to act as your spear and shield. We can also gather information and relay information within ---".
"Ollie, your so long winded, our Master doesn't seem interested in why we are bound to him. Master, we came to serve you in your pursuits".
"Star, don't interrupt me. Master think of us as your weapons and spies. Eventually I believe that you will rule this world and save many other lost ones".
Leo was confused with the barrage of information and had a few questions,"First what happened in the last 3000 years, second, who or what are lost ones"?
Star spoke first and said,"Well 2000 years ago was the FCW, First Contact War. The war took place between the Earthlings and the Eru-Humans. This lead to the introduction of portals made by machine and magic....."
"Wait, Star, you lost me at magic. You did say that magic is real now right", Leo said this excitedly while thinking of a man with a long grey beard and wide brimmed hat.
"Yes, she said magic is real. Needless to say you are in an experiment facility to try to create a being with unnatural magic talent and potential. The most common result of the experiment is the subject exploding due to magic concentration----"
"You don't need to explain why they explode. Knowing that these experiments make people explode is plenty" Leo said plainly.
Leo followed up with,"So is there anyway out of here or am I stuck to this table until the experiment is over"?
Star spoke up,"Nope, you're not quite strong enough to leave yet but, the experiments won't kill you".
After Star finished speaking the lights came one in the room. The masked man returned and immediately noticed that Leo was awake. As the masked man approached the cabinet Oliver said,"Master everything before the FCW was lost. You can't tell them about us or your past."
The masked man came over to the table and began making checks before saying,"Well Subject 984908, it would seem that you are becoming more and more of resounding success. Nobody is gonna believe that a cripple barely kept alive would survive the deadliest experiment. Well that is if you survive the next two injections". As he finished talking he stabbed the violet syringe into Leo's heart.
Leo immediately felt a wave of cold radiate from his heart immediately after the fluid was completely injected. He was able to feel the cold feeling reach his fingertips and toes. Leo looked around and noticed that the masked man had raised a clear blast shield between him and the table. Eventually the cold feeling turned warm and then went away. After the feeling was gone Leo felt like his body had gotten lighter and almost like he could break the restraints. The masked man eventually dropped the blast shield back into the floor. He walked up to the table and made a few checks before going back to the cabinet. The masked man came back with what looked like a handprint scanner. The masked man placed the scanner onto Leo's hand and shortly after the scanner exploded. The masked man did not escape unscathed, his right hand was missing as well as half of his face. He simply mumbled something and his injuries healed themselves.
"I never expected a cripple to be able to survive in this experiment so not to mention managing to totally destroy an SS-Grade measuring device. I can technically end the experiment here and name you the sole magic talent success but, I have a hunch that you'll survive the last injection". The masked man said slowly as he put a new mask on.
