Chapter 75 - K.O.

I have trained a lot since my fight with Uncle Vili. I'm still about 5'2 but I'm slightly stockier. I'm still predominantly toned and lean but my biceps have gained some weight.

For a six year old, I'm pretty beefy. Apparently, giants reach full growth at 8 years old. As their descendants with humans, I'd say I'll reach full maturity half way through my teens.

Women in our tribe typically are able to have children around 10 as opposed to the average being 12, while men begin hitting the age where puberty strikes around 8 and have intermittent growth spurts after.

Of course women in our tribe are quite open about sexual relations but usually they don't begin their late night escapes until 14ish. At least, that's what I can gather through Muninn. Marrying between the tribe happens in their early 20's.

If I was to describe it, I'd say that a person's late teens is equivalent to the craziness of the early 20's of the modern era. Finding careers, seeking further education, taking risks, traveling, and planning for your life all happen at this age.

For all intensive purposes, humans of giant descent hit everything 3-5 years early whether maturity or education, it's all pretty fast.

Of course, most of my life has been planned already, plus I have a different mindset with goals in mind that for most of my time until 14, I'll be traveling and learning about the world. In fact, considering my age, I am considered the equivalent to a ten year old prodigy already applying for college if you compare training to education back on Earth.

From a career perspective, there's not really a good comparison, but I'd say am extremely advanced in all fronts like learning about politics and history for ruling, Training for leading armies, and already having an up in-coming business. Most people on Earth would devote their lives to just one of these meanwhile I tackle all these at the same time. Some might call this a blessing to get the opportunity to do so but most don't realize the amount a child would give up just to accomplish that. Not mentioning the fact that I was under house arrest with not a lot of kids my age, I had to effectively give up having a childhood for this.

Not that I cared. In my mind, I already had a childhood on Earth and a lot of things like culture and basic things you would learn in your formative years, I already knew. My first hurdle was just language and from there, I could learn anything in specific I needed to. The only thing that was a hassle was mentally, I had to love what I was doing and I had to be willing to work non-stop with no breaks for years on end.

Thank the Goddess the idea of Magic and repaying my parents kept me going forward.

[You also looked were desperate to find a reason to live. You are now solely driven by that and magic]

In any case, most of my party is not like me, yet.

Nix who is 9 has already started his growth spurt. He's somewhere around 5'8 already. Lanky fellow, he's gained a few inches this year so fast. This and the fact he's a general's kid has them ahead of the curve slightly and Sif's practical experience with me has made her a pseudo monster when it comes to the druid arts. She's more carefree though.

Currently looking in front of me surrounded by a flaming backdrop, is a man around 5'11. He's likely the shortest tribesman I have ever seen. He's currently blocked from the back by Nix while I have his front.

The man did not move after we realized Nix and I were targeting him. He only raised his Blades in a stance.

Clearly he was waiting for us to make a move first.

Both Nix and I glanced at each other and smiled. We trained in team work tactics for a whole year.

I instinctually used my left hand to throw three knives at this man while Nix shot an arrow as well.

This was all done to force him to either jump or make him go in an uncomfortable position.

Clearly my knife antics haven't stopped.

As I threw the knives I moved forward shifting my weapon into a spear. He has longer reach than me so a spear would help bridge that gap.

As the knives approached the man did something astounding. He leaned left just quickly enough that he was only grazed by the arrow while using one of his short swords to deflect the knife coming for him on the left.

Even though he deflected it I felt the need to lunge forward with the spear. Originally this was a for sure kill move but he was in a better position to defend from me.

All he did we lean back into a center position and stop moving while my spear fell short.

Now he had a free shot against me if it weren't for the second arrow headed right for his back.

He had very astute hearing to be able to hear that arrow coming.

He promptly gave up hitting me to duck. He might have thought I wasn't expecting him to duck allowing the arrow to go for me but I had run this move set with Nix plenty of times to already have my foot ready to sweep with my weapon to the side coincidentally missing getting hit by the arrow due to my short height and side ways movement.

As he ducked, he wouldn't get knocked over but if I just switched my weapon last minute into a hammer, surprising him, I'm sure I can do some damage.

He likely expected for me to either get hit by the arrow, disengage, or weep with the staff portion of the spear which he could surely take no problem.

Unfortunately for him I didn't do those because I first transformed my weapon into a hammer closing the distance and I shifted the weight of the hammer to make it heavier causing my hit to be extremely hard at the speed I was swinging it at.

[Swing batter batter Swing]

The mans body got hit and he flipped away from the hit. It didn't quite look like a home run but the sudden shift in weight of my hammer and the increase in momentum made him look like a baseball being bunted from a batter.

I guess that's one point for physics. Mass x Velocity = Momentum. Which in this case means keeping the velocity of my hammer the same, as I increase the weight, the harder I hit. Or vice versa but I'm not increasing my swing speed anytime soon.

As the man came to a stop Nix was already chasing after him.

[Finish him!!]

Luckily someone was faster. Fenrir darted from the red puddle that I'm not turning to look at farting for the man.

She got the the man who had his wind knocked out and quickly finished him with a bite to the neck.

[Fatality!]

If I can spare Nix the agony of what I just went through I will. In any case would you like me to pose for my victory Goddess?

[I would love to watch you make a fool of yourself]

"Nix finish up here I have to go look at something, also bring that mana corpse out the building intact."

Nix Nodded and began to clean the battlefield of flame with the wolves. The building's fire is spreading.

I quickly disengaged and headed for a room behind the throne.

The room was clearly where the Burly man named Jackal handed affairs. There was wolf rug and a table here for meetings.

There was also an adjacent room that I knocked the door down quickly by pulling the hinge joints out. It's actually very easy to open doors like that.

It had a desk and safe in it. Looking at the desk there was only a journal on it and a ledger. Taking out a spare bag that can likely fit 5 or six library books, I begin to fill it with all I can find inside the desks dearest which was pretty much the equivalent of four thick books.

I looked to the safe. Noticing the fire was clearly getting worse I lifted my hammer.

This safe was made with wood and iron bands. Two good full power hits will do.

Knocking leviatienn in a few times, I pried the safe open.

Looking in was another book and a slip with some sort of Gem on it. I quickly place it in my bag and run out the room.

The smoke was billowing in at this point, I didn't have a lot of time.

Walking into the meeting room, I noticed that the fire wasn't raging that hard yet and a quick druid spell to lower the temperature from me could allow me to walk through the hall easily. I didn't do so and instead turned around and look around the room.

I noticed something unusual before and I wanted to check it out before I left. If push comes to shove, A charge up of my hammer could break through a wall.

Looking at an interesting divot in the wall of this meeting room I had a strange feeling this was another exit or perhaps a secret room. I felt my way around to see if there was a latch or button in the divot only for my hand to phase through the wall causing me to trip and fall forward.
