(December 17th 1991)
The sound of screams in the Common Room below me awoke me from my deep slumber. I roll over with a groan and look at the small pocket watch that is left on the bed side cabinet next to everyone's bed. Ever since what happened between Oliver and I, I've refused to leave room and I only leave for lessons and for food. But even then I find difficulty and it sometimes result in one of the girls' bringing me food. Harry was furious when he found out what happened, it even came to the point were he was going to quit the Gryffindor's Quidditch team. Whenever Harry has to be around Oliver he makes sure his presence is know. Talking louder than normal. Talking back to Oliver after being given clear instructions. Then if Oliver is holding the Quidditch equipment; Harry purposely barges into him and makes Oliver drop everything.
The time read 11:30pm. Suddenly, I hear a scream that sounds awfully familiar to Tesha's. This causes me to jump out of bed and sprint down the stairs: the only people that seemed to be present in the Common room was Tesha, Cherry, Lillian and a few other students. However, each and every individual was standing securely behind a piece of furniture.
"Iris! Thank the heavens you came downstairs," I hear Tesha shout towards me. Herself and Tesha were standing behind one of the velvet red couches closest to the Common Room doors.
"Is everything okay?" I say as I look around at the other students.
"No, it's not okay!" Tesha screams at me. She reaches out her shaking hand and points to the right far corner of the room. "A bloody tarantula almost bit my arm off!"
"She's not lying! The creature was crawling up her arm!" Cherry stands behind Tesha and grips tightly onto her arm. "Iris, do something we're bloody terrified here if you haven't already noticed!" Cherry continues to shriek and hide behind Tesha.
"Well, where is it?" I ask.
"Right there!" Cherry points to the right far corner of the room like Tesha did just before.
"It's right there! Are you blind?" Lillian pops her head out of behind another couch and points to where the others previously have. I take slow cautious steps towards where the spider is supposed to be.
"She's going to die!" Cherry cries out.
As I get closer to the corner of the room my eyes land on a small six-legged creature and I let out a sigh of relief before turning around and giving the others the so called 'death stare', "Are you talking about that? The small little itsy-bitsy spider."
"Y-yeah obviously," Tesha's voice cracks as she jumps onto the couch and crouches down. "Merlin's Beard, wow ladies. Alright fine I'll squish it." I bend down and take off my shoe and raise it behind my head. Once I'm about to hit it Lillian stops me.
"No don't hurt it!"
"Oh my god," I mutter to myself as I place my shoe back on. Carefully, I bend down and cup my hands before picking up the tiny spider. When I turn around to face the others it causes them to let out more painful and torturous screams. "Are you serious?"
"You bloody asking for a death sentence girl," Tesha says from the couch as she is still in a crouched position. I take quick steps towards the girls with the spider in my hand which causes them to jump up and run up the stairs to which I presume to our dormitory. With a shake to my head, I walk over to the window and open it before practically throwing it out.
"Bye little spider," I wave to it as I watch it fall.
