In the Red Kingdom, Bredana, Sek's wife stirred in her bed, rustling the silk sheets with groans escaping her mouth. The pain had started about an hour ago and she thought it would pass — thinking it was something normal, probably from something she had eaten the night before — and that was why she hadn't called any of her maids into her chambers.
"Tsk… argh…"
She continued to wince over and over again, now with tears streaming down the sides of her face. The pain was intense. She had never felt anything like it in her life before. It was a white-hot pain that spread all over her body but was more intense around her abdominal area. Even her lower back was not spared from the bombardment of pain.
"Wh-Who's there?!" Bredana called out. She thought she had screamed but her voice had only come out in a low tone and didn't reach anywhere beyond her massive bed.
