Ruby had been trying to figure that out but she could not and thought that she had better ask the maid.
Cecil looked at the princess and walked closer to where she was sitting now. How best would she relay her thoughts to the princess? How would she tell the princess what she was thinking?
There was no way she could go directly to the king — that was unheard of. But Cecil knew that the princess could teach where she couldn't reach. Besides, there was a rumor going on in the palace that the king might have eyes for Princess Ruby.
Anyway, that wasn't her concern and it was not what she had come there for. So she squatted in front of Ruby knowing that the princess could be understandable. She wasn't like most royalty that could not accommodate or stand the presence of commoners or servants.
