When he was sure they weren't being followed, he stopped and squatted for Ruby to get down.
Seth didn't turn to look at her until he was calm and knew he could communicate again.
"Are you okay, Ruby?"
She was just staring, frozen to where she stood.
"Ruby?", he called, walking towards her.
Ruby took a step back, and another. "Don't come any closer"
A sharp pain pierced Seth's heart. "What do you mean? What is wrong?". Seth knew that his horns weren't out anymore. The fact that he could talk told him so.
"What do I mean? I am the one to ask questions, Seth"
"Then ask!". Seth remained where he was, his hands at his sides. She made him weak. Looking at her... "Ruby..."
"First, I appreciate that you came for me. But what are you, Seth? The horns, the bones on your back... the scales. YOUR EYE!", Ruby shrieked.
"I am Seth. I told you already"
