But Alys couldn't reject the offer. She accepted it with a jubilating heart because the end point of it all was to gain entrance into the main place without being checked or questioned.
And that was exactly what she received with this job offer.
Alys was shown around the palace by the matron, the bone overseeing the maids and servants in the palace.
This was a new face as Alys didn't recognise her and vice versa. Alys wondered what happened to the former matron but she bridled her tongue and acted like she knew nothing about the palace.
Alys nodded her head and wowed as the mate kept showing her around the working areas and the place where she would be hiding her head for the main time.
"I will speak to the necessary people to make an appropriate space for you..." the matron said.
