Long story short, this Huang Fu was one of the few people who made Xie Ra squeal like a fangirl. His smart thinking, creativity, unpredictable persona always made him the center of attention everywhere. Many female cultivators were drooling over him. Ew. But, senior Huang never took notice of them.
Not only them, even Xie Ra mostly got from him was a respectful bow. Back then Xie Ra found an opportunity to talk with senior Huang Fu, thanks to elder Shen Guang. Unfortunately, Xie Ra felt so anxious. So he greeted Huang Fu and left the place before the other one reply. There went his chance of making a new friend.
That was past. He looked so different back then. Black long hair placed into a ponytail, brown eyes, faintly tanned skin, light blue and white robes of the Immortal Sword Sect. The only thing that remained now was his beloved sword, memories, and personality.
Xie Ra stood up slowly and took his sword. He went some distance away. Kids were dividing their breakfast among them. His little friend gave him two steamed buns before joining back to his group of friends. Xie Ra bit into one as he walked out of their sight.
He unwrapped his sword and pulled it out from its sheath. QiJi proudly glistened under the sunlight. Xie Ra tried to put some movement he remembered.
Ouch.
The sword felt very heavy against his hand. When he tried to perform, his wrist got cramped. The worst thing was he didn't feel any qi surging inside his body.
He had some hope that some of his cultivation was perceived. However, this incident was enough to prove him wrong.
Xie Ra sighed in pain in both his heart and wrist.
"You aren't a cultivator. And, you aren't a regular mortal either. You aren't a dragon or demon either. Actually, I cannot figure out your identity. Mind it if I ask?"
Xie Ra turned around in the direction of the voice. Senior Huang was leaning against a tree, crossing his arms and carefully observing him. Then he continued.
"The first time you bumped into me, I felt the difference in your aura. I thought maybe you are a blood cultivator. I haven't fought one before, so I still don't know about their aura.
But, clearly, from the way you handled the sword, you are not a cultivator. However, The spiritual weapon was compatible with you. So you must be its true owner."
Brilliant. What could you expect from a prodigy? So, his cover nearly busted the first time he bumped into him.
But, He was painfully aware of the danger of revealing his true self. He really wanted to tell him about this to his hero. Xie faced a huge dilemma. Senior Huang waited patiently until Xie Ra answer.
He decided to tell him the partial truth. Xie Ra cleared his throat.
"Well. Senior is correct. I am a half-breed. And, this is my sword. I faced some painful incident and destroyed my own spiritual core a year ago. Now, I'm ashamed to go back to my original sect.
So, I'm heading to Twilight city, and then I will find my way to the Jade sword sect. I think I can hear some clues about this sect's location at the city."
Senior Huang seemed to be momentarily thoughtful before speaking up.
"I believe you. I don't ask further questions. My sincere apologies for prying in. And, the Jade sword city isn't in Twilight city's direction.
I can take you there but, I don't think your current body can handle flying on a sword. I mean my sword. Your sword clearly isn't in a suitable realm.
I'll summon my beast Ruoxi. He will drop you there. However, I can't leave my junior brothers here. If you can wait here until I hand them over to a safe hand, I think I can help you. No pressure though. I want to make up for prying into your personal life."
Wow. This was a heaven-sent blessing. He should be crazy to pass this opportunity. So, Xie Ra cheerfully said, "This Junior is grateful, senior Huang. I will wait here."
Xie Ra felt excitement flowed through his veins.
*************************************************
Xie Ra wanted to puke. The bumpy ride on Ruoxi wasn't slightly enjoyable for this poor youth. He felt his face turned green as he looked down. Damn, this motion sickness.
Neither Ruoxi nor her master noticed how uncomfortable Xie Ra was. Senior Huang looked ahead with great focus. "We'll be there in one hour." He told himself. Unfortunately, Xie Ra heard it amidst the sound made by the wind.
ANOTHER HOUR? YOU WANT ME DEAD?
He dropped his head on senior Huang's shoulder. He was sitting in front of Xie Ra, directing his earth pet Ruoxi. With unexpected contact, he got alarmed. He tried to withdraw but, then he saw the nearly dying face of the other boy. Huang Fu realized why.
Crap. This guy has motion sickness.
He landed the Ruoxi immediately. He didn't want to bathe in puke.
He helped Xie Ra off and let the shorter male lean against a tree. Then he wiped the other one's face with some water.
Sigh.
Xie fell asleep within a few minutes. Huang knew it was a good time to start the ride again. The issue was Huang Fu wasn't good at understanding others. He didn't bother to think what Xie might feel about this after waking up.
So, Huang Fu proceeded to put Xie Ra on the Ruoxi like a potato sack. Then they flew towards the Jade sword sect. Earth beast Ruoxi carried the sleeping boy who was bonded to his back by Huang. Huang flew on his sword, guiding his rock bird.
They entered the Jade sword sect vicinity, so they landed without crossing the protection array of the sect. He didn't want to alarm the whole sect for this boy's sake.
Xie felt someone smacked him awake for the second time that day. He wanted to scream his head off but, then a deep voice said, "We're here."
