Chapter 9 - Winter in heart.

Someone put a hand on his shoulder. When he turned around he saw AhLan's gentle face.

"We aren't late AhXie. It has only been 2 hours since you left the village." He said kindly. Xie Ra knew he was right.

Compared to other days that take one and half hours to reach Yulong city, Xie Ra reached there half an hour early. As soon as he explained the reason AhLan closed his shop early and came back to the village with him.

Xie Ra tried to tell him it was ok not to come but AhLan insisted. "What's the point of being friends if I won't be there when they need me the most?" He argued back.

True, Xie Ra felt moved. AhLan's presence comforted him. He remembered Ning Bo, who was busy taking care of Bàba in Yan's residence.

Xie Ra was sure that Ning Bo spent many sleepless nights looking after Bàba just like him. Even Yan Yi worked hard. Some of his colleagues visited Bàba in the evenings. He was grateful for them from the bottom of his heart.

"AhLan, As soon as we go home we'll take Bàba to the city. I feel so bad for troubling you but I can't let him stay there for long" Xie Ra said bitterly. AhLan nodded.

"Yeah, Let's take him back fast. I can talk to Liu *Yishi. He's the best doctor in Yulong city. He buys his supplies from my store too. He won't say No."

AhLan said confidently. This made Xie Ra a bit relaxed.

The cart slowed down. Xie Ra lifted his head to see why. "AhXie, we arrived," AhLan told him at the same time the cart stopped completely.

Both AhLan And Xie Ra jumped off the cart and ran towards the house. AhLan entered inside first. The other boy followed him.

"Yan Yishi, Me and Xie Ra are back. Let's take uncle Mo to..." His voice died as he saw the scene in front of him. He stopped in his tracks.

Xie Ra, who was following him, bumped into him. "AhLan Why did you..." Xie Ra's words stopped as well when he noticed the scene AhLan witnessed.

Yan Lou and Ning Bo were silently standing up near Bàba's bed. The Surroundings were covered with a gloomy atmosphere that mixed with sorrowful tinge.

Medical equipment was scattered around the floor, telling the story of the fight both Yan Lou and Ning Bo fought against Death's angel.

But proving the fact that all those battles failed according to the law of nature, Mo Xing slept peacefully on his bed, not to wake up ever again.

Life is cruel. It chose the exact moment to grab away the father's life as soon as his son went away.

Xie Ra didn't even have a chance to bid farewell to his father.

He silently went towards his Bàba who was lying peacefully, with a calm expression on his face. He seemed to be happy about finally escaping from his long sufferings. Xie Ra touched Bàba's pale face. His face felt cold.

"Bàba? I'm back. Wake up. We have to go to the city doctor. See, even AhLan came back with me." Tears in his eyes threatened to escape.

"You promised to take me to see Northern cultivators. You have to get better, Bàba. wake up. Please" His voice broke. Then his voice raised a little.

"Why? How could you do this Bàba? Don't you love this 'Son'? You didn't even wait for me.

HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? Just, why?"

Tears started to fall like a river from his eyes. He stumbled backward. He felt broken beyond repair. Both AhLan and Bo simultaneously Jumped forward to catch Xie Ra.

Xie Ra was trembling. The other three in the room found themselves crying silently as they watch how poor Xie Ra broke down like a kid. For all this time, they never saw him cry like this. He was a boy with a cold temperament.

But on the other hand, this kid just appeared out of nowhere without any memory. Then after some time found a family of his own. A father of his own. Then as soon as he started to be happy, life took him away. He didn't even have time to say the final goodbye.

How cruel life can be.

Xie Ra sobbed for some time. Then he suddenly stood up pushing the other two away. He stopped sobbing and stared at Bàba's lifeless body for a few minutes in trance.

Then he turned around and ran out of the house. AhLan and Ning Bo both ran after him.

Yan Lou sighed and wiped his tears. Then he turned to the Body of deceased Mo Xing and said "I'll give him your message Mo ge. I promise."

At the same time, the oil lamp that lit up the small room died as its oil ran out.
