Jeremy had long disappeared around the corner of the sidewalk without young Tess. The few people walking on the streets nearby appeared as moving blurs. Their lack of detail signified the unimportance, or the tears at her eyes made it hard to see. Young Tess stood crying and unable to stop shaking.
Tess stood beside her young self and stared at her trembling frame. Why didn't she lie back then? It would have changed everything. She was around fifteen and so came the three years of being pushed away… Three years of coldness. It was that moment that turned Jeremy into a bastard.
In one blink, she found herself following four teenagers out of a movie theatre. The white and blond hair on the two of them instantly gave her and Jeremy away. The other two persons were Warren and Brenda. The multi-level roadways and artificial grounds above their heads blocked out the sky. But she could tell it was during the day when she should be in class.
