Meredith went to bed early. She laid in the dark room looking out the window at the city, not able to fall asleep. She had pulled up out of her collapse, or at least she knew she would be able to since her thoughts had been sorted.
She just had to become content with the fact that she was in a cage and embrace it to the best of her abilities or go off the deep end. She knew if she kept trying to hold on for her freedom that she would inevitably lose her sanity.
She didn't know how long she had laid there in the dark room when she heard Brayden enter the room. He climbed in bed and lay silently. She waited to hear his breathing shift, telling her that he was asleep. It never shifted.
Brayden laid in the dark room watching Meredith as she lay still facing away from him. Her silhouette was beautiful in the dark room. She had the sheet pulled up under her arm and the duvet was pushed down to her hip, allowing him to trace the curves of her body with his eyes.
