The whole ride back, I thought if he saw me or not, No one knew about this side of me well except Maria. I have always tried to hide that I race or ride from everyone. My parents found out the last time they saw the bike in the garage, but thankfully, they were not mad and told me always to be safe. I don't mind if they know that I ride, but the race is something everyone is scared of, but this is the only thing that will keep me sane in moments of anger like this.
I went back home to the smell of my favourite fook cooking. When I went into the kitchen, I saw Maria cooking, I don't know how she has the energy for all this, but I am blessed to have her in my life. Maria turned around and asked, "So, are you feeling better now?" I nodded, not wanting to talk about that; somehow, she understood that and asked, "What did you do? Long ride?" "No, I found this group at the race track racing, so I joined them." Maria looked worried as soon as I said that but looked relive when she noticed I was not hurt. "Did you win?" "Sadly no, but you know the guy I raced against and lost is Brandon."
Maria paused for a minute and said: "You mean that arcehole, who won't talk to you in your friend group?" I nodded excitedly. "He is very good at racing, but I don't know if he saw me or not. Also, I wanted to go again tomorrow, but now I am unsure." Maria said: " If you want to go, don't let anything stop you from doing what you like. Always remember that. Okay?" I nodded as I stuffed my mouth with Maria's famous Spaghetti and Meatballs. Maria also slowly joined after nagging her to eat with me for the past few years.
After dinner, I went to my room for a good night's sleep when I got a message from Becky reminding me that we were going to the Mall tomorrow and had to dress nicely. Ouch, why did that hurt me? I replied, 'I always dress nice.' only to get a 'hehe' back.
The next day I woke up to Hana calling me, "Hey, I know it's still early in the morning, but I just wanted to remind you that Becky will kill you even if you are late to school today."
"Hey, Good morning Hana. Thank you for informing me about that, and thanks for waking me up," I said and hung up the call.
I slowly got out of bed and got ready for the day, remembering that Becky messaged me yesterday asking me to dress nicely.
After getting ready, I quickly had breakfast and ran out of the house to be early.
I saw Hana get out of her car at school, and I slowly walked over to her, hoping that Brandon was not in school today.
But to my bad luck, Brandon was right behind Hana. Surprisingly he was smiling at me; oh shit, did he get to know it was me at the race track? As I got close to them, it also felt like I was walking toward my end.
As soon as I reached Hana, she shook me, getting me out of my trance. Only to see that Brandon was nowhere. I was thankful that he was not here yet.
Soon we heard a voice, " Hey guys, are you excited for today?"
