The plane landed, passengers started getting out of the plane. The police officers also came, to arrest the hijackers. The police decided to honour Arman. As he played a major role in catching the hijackers.
But instead of getting applauded, Arman got wierd gazes towards him. He couldn't quite understand the situation.
He then came out of the airport, then he saw his brothers who had come to take him.
"Here, this is my luggage, take it to the car." Arman said to his two younger brothers
But they completely declined "We are not your servants, so do it yourself!"
Arman tilted his head side to side helplessly.
"So, how was your journey, big brother."
One of his brothers asked.
"Well, it wasn't bad. Let's get into the car first, in the way to our home, I will tell you the tale of my bravery."
"Someone who gets his pants wet on seeing a cockroach is talking about bravery?" Arman's younger brother smirked at him.
"Stop blabbering, Okay?" Arman's face slowly started to turn red. Arman bowed down to lift his bag.
"So embarrassing! Why are hanging an undergarment on your collar?" Arman's brother asked.
"What are you sayin.." Arman checks his back
"Uh... how did this get on my back?"
"How would we know about this?" Arman's brothers replied in unision.
"Maybe, it got onto me when I fired that gun."
Arman tried to clarify himself.
"Alright Jamal, Now let's get to our home first" Said Arman
"Okay." Arman's youngest brother replied.
They all sat in the car.
"Haah, Tokyo has changed a lot since I left." Arman said with a breath of relaxation.
"Yes, I think the same about it. The city has now got a completely different scent than before. And even the breeze seems to have changed." Ali replied
"No, I wasn't talking about that, last time when I came here, that shop was crowded, and now it isn't"
"Are you a complete idiot?" Both of them shouted at Arman.
"Sorry. By the way, my b'day is coming near, what preparations have you made?"
"What? Your b'day? Uh... Ermm... Ah.. Sorry we forgot about it, hehe"
After a few minutes.
"You are joking, right?" Ali denied.
"No, it's true. I really helped the police catch the hijackers" But Arman insisted Ali on believing his words.
"We have reached our home, let's get out of the car"
Arman saw the house and commented. "What? Such a small house?
"Stop complaining!!"
"Okay, okay."
The three of them entered the house.
"Woah, it looks so small from the outside, but it's so spacious from inside" Arman was bewildered by the beautiful house.
"And there is a grand piano too."
And then, a rat suddenly ran over the piano keys.
"Ahh, Jamal there is a ghost in this house. It played automatically."
"Oh chill bro, it was just a rat." Ali calmed down Arman.
"By the way, which one among these is my room?" Arman asked.
"That one on the left is yours." Ali pointed towards a room in the second floor.
Arman then said to Jamal "I will go to my room, you go and get me a cup of coffee."
But Ali intervened replied "Learn to do your work by yourself!"
"Huff! Not again."
Arman climbed the stairs and opened the door, and commented on the room "Not bad, though. First I will freshen up, after that I will contact Jacob and Dan."
Arman took a bath and came out of the bathroom.
Knock knock.
"Come in." Arman said.
"Sir, your coffee" A maid came with a kettle in her hands.
"Alright, put it there I will drink it later."
The maid left the room.
Arman poured the coffee in a cup and took a sip.
He started dialing a number on his phone.
The phone started ringing.
The person on the other side picked up the phone.
"Hello there! Arman, have you returned from Los Angeles? If you have, then why don't you come to our home?" The person on the other side started talking.
"Oh come on Jacob, it's already 10:55 on the clock, how can I come to you at this hour."
Arman straightforwardly declined.
"So why did you call me?" Jacob asked.
"I wanted to remind you about tomorrow..."
Arman was about to complete his words, but Jacob interrupted him.
"Tomorrow? Is there something special tomorrow?"
Arman said with a sigh "Now don't tell me that even you forgot about it. Alright then, tomorrow is 16th of June - My birthday."
"Oh! Sorry, I forgot about that" Jacob replied.
"I hope you didn't forget that you will have to bring me a present for my birthday." Arman said.
'Oh darn, I forgot about that too' Jacob said to himself.
As Jacob was speaking to himself, Arman interrupted him. "Sorry, but I couldn't hear you clearly."
"Nothing! And you don't worry, I was just packing the present, hehe hehehe. Now I think, we should go to sleep." Jacob tried to explain himself
"Bye, wish you sweet dreams." Jacob bid his farewell.
Arman ended the phone call, "Wait, he didn't remember that tomorrow was my birthday. And yet, he was packing it? something seems suspicious. Hah! He made a fool out of me."
********
"Dan! Dan! Where are you? Quick!"
Jacob shouted heavily.
"What happened bro? Why are getting so worked up?"
Dan asked in a sleepy voice.
"Tomorrow is Arman's b'day! And we haven't prepared a present yet! What do we do now?"
Dan exclaimed.
"Let's see if any shop is still up, maybe we will find something for him" Dan said in a low voice.
"Yeah, there's nothing else we can do now"
Jacob noded in agreement.
Both of them changed their clothes in a flash and quickly got out.
They sat in the car in hurry and started the car.
About a few hours later.
"Shit! not even a single thing! How will get him a present now?" Jacob asked.
"It is your fault! We should have just got him the wristwatch from the shop before. But no! You wanted something expensive.
And now, there aren't many shops left in this area!"
"Wait, there is a jewellery shop open in the left, and the are about to close it." Dan said.
"Are you serious? What is he going to do with a something like that?" Jacob asked with a stressful voice
"You have a better idea? No, right? So shut up and come with me." Dan slammed Jacob with his words.
They both walked to the shop. Shopkeeper denied to sell any thing this late, but they convinced him somehow.
"Please show me a bracelet for men." Both asked.
The shopkeeper showed them a few bracelets but they didn't like those bracelets.
And then 'Krrrrrrng'
Jacob let out a fart.
"Hehe hehehe, I will be back in a moment, where is the toilet?"
Jacob left for the toilet.
Dan became busy searching for a good bracelet. But then, his eyes caught up a glitter.
The thing that was glittering, was so mesmerizing that he lost his mind to it.
"Where is this light coming from?" Dan asked
The shopkeeper took out a gem. A gem similar to the power source, no it was the power source.
"It's a new piece of gem. But it is very large,
so I can't think in what sort of jewellery can I embed this. Some of my men said that this is a diamond and some said that it is a ruby, we haven't yet recognised it. That's why my shop is still up, otherwise my shop closes at 9 pm. Never mind, should I show you some more pieces of these bracelets?"
"No I want this one!" Dan pointed towards the gem.
"Sir, I can't sell you that." The shopkeeper denied.
"Five hundred million ¥"
"But sir..."
"six hundred million ¥"
"Sir you won't understand..."
"Seven hundred and fifty million ¥"
"Done sir, I will pack this now."
A few minutes later.
Jacob came out of the toilet and asked, "Did you get anything for Arman?"
"Yes, I have got him a gem." Dan opens the box in which the gem was kept.
"Are you freakin' nuts? What is he going to do with a diamond? As far as I know, his dad is not a diamond trader. And isn't it too costly for a birthday present?"
Jacob thundered.
"Well, I couldn't find anything else for him, so I bought this. Have a look every shop is closed now, this one too. And did you notice this beautiful pattern of fire? This looks attractive. And we need to go back home quickly, orelse mom dad will find out that we are not home." Dan tried to make it up to Jacob.
"Okay, let's go home." Jacob and Dan sat in the car and they returned home.
The next day.
"Yawn, I wish myself a happy birthday." Arman woke up.
"Happy birthday big bro." A voice rang out
Arman saw that Ali had come to wish him.
He thought 'My dear brother, he cares for me so much.'
"Alright, I will come straight to the point. The servants are off on a holiday, and I will be busy with the decorations. Jamal has gone out with the driver to get some materials for the decorations. So you will have to clean the house today, the vaccume cleaner is in the store room." Ali started blabbering.
'What a family I have, I don't get to rest even on birthdays' Arman thought.
"And yeah, you might be thinking that ' I don't get to rest even on holidays' right? So let me remind you that you never work, on other days too. We are the one who, despite being underaged manage the house." Ali sarcasticly said to Arman.
"But the food you eat comes from my hard earned money. So don't you think you should be thankful to me?."
"Well, I didn't want to say this, but you asked for it. You are underaged too, so who would give you a job? Huh, are we idiots according to you? All that money was given to us by daddy, you always forgot to remove daddy's logo from the envelope carrying the money.
We always knew about your folly. So stop acting and get to the work."
"Fine, I will do it."
