Chapter 6 - 5 Falling for love

Lobo was playing his guitar when Hugh called.

"If Andrea can handle them alone, then, she can handle. I don't see any problem, except, if you have other interests other than being of assistance to her… hmm."

Lobo chuckled on the other line.

"Why don't you invite her for a formal date?"

Lobo was laughing again.

"I know," something popped up in Hugh's mind. Andrea's birthday was near. He called Tatin, Isabella, Apollo II, Matthias, and Julius over the telephone.

The party that night was exclusive.

Isabella played upbeat music of Sebastian Bach. Lobo was on his strings, either jamming with Isabella, playing his compositions and that of his mother's.

Matthias and Julius were the coolest. They watched and enjoyed their company.

Hugh and Andrea were together.

Isabella later joined Tatin. They talked.

Later on, there were knocks on the door; Apollo opened. It was Michael and Gabriel.

Tatin and Isabella gasped upon learning from Hugh that Andrea was mobbed by wolves but was relieved to know that she was able to defend herself.

"I never thought that with the prosperity that we are reaping, there are, among us, dissatisfied groups." Tatin said.

"The prize of being on top." Isabella added.

"Remnants?" Lobo suggested.

"Looks like, "Apollo seconded.

"Peace is hard to come by," Tatin shook his head.

"Only when you're dead." Apollo commented. Matthias and Julius nodded.

"When will all these bickering ever end?" Tatin was mumbling. "I can speculate that that wolf-alien marriage thing has a tail. We have to find out.

"By the way, have you checked their backgrounds yet?"

Hugh wasn't paying attention. His eyes were on Andrea, who was, in turn, enjoying his charm.

"Hey, you two are the ones who are primarily involved." Tatin was trying to get their attention.

Michael and Gabriel were laughing, so was Matthias and Julius.

Suddenly, Hugh and Andrea realized that everybody was looking at them; they finally paid attention.

"Ha ha ha… looks like there are wedding bells coming." Isabella noted how they were so glued to each other by the look in their eyes. "So, that explains why you bloom, Andrea."

Andrea was a little embarrassed. She, again, looked at Hugh, smiling and raising her eyebrows as if asking Hugh whether he deserved her love.

Then, Isabella rallied everyone to sing a happy birthday song for the celebrator as she accompanied on piano and Lobo played his strings.

After dinner and some tea, the group went out that night. It was time to test their agility, dexterity, and flexibility. They ran and enjoyed under the shadows of the super moon. They watched the celestial phenomenon from Apollo's scope. It was a spectacular night.

The forest was lit with all the trees' branches dancing. The plants swayed as Tatin, Isabella, and Apollo stared, smiling as they enjoyed their rare ability to move objects. Hugh and Andrea exchanged catching fireballs and rolling over the ground while Matthias, Julius, and Lobo created sparkles that reached up to the sky. The townsfolk were thrilled to see the fireworks. Michael and Gabriel giggled like little children as they enjoyed fencing and watching their friends' legerdemain.
