Weeks and months passed and it was almost six months after the Ryan incident. Ryan was arrested by the Police and as I didn't want him to be in jail I didn't put any charges on him. In exchange for his freedom, he gave me a divorce. He left France. I was still working at the same office. Today was my birthday but no one knew about it until my parents, sisters and brothers called me to wish, as Sofia heard she wished me too. Rose hugged me and kissed me too.
I was in the office and Mr Richards smiled and wished me Good Morning. I wished him back. I was busy typing on my computer. I heard the door of the cabin open but I was too busy to look up. Then I heard Simon's husky voice ' Happy Birthday Ria' I looked up and saw Simon in front of my desk, Richard also wished me and I saw flowers in his hand, he gave me the flowers. I took it and thanked them, then I saw Julie and others coming inside and they all wished me. I was shocked and happy too. Later when everyone left the cabin. Simon spoke to Richard ' Uncle, can I borrow your secretary for today? ' His uncle replied ' With pleasure my son ' . I was about to refuse but Simon headed near me caught my hand and said ' Pick up your purse girl ' . I took it and looked at Mr Richard ' You can take leave today it's your birthday enjoy the day and my nephew is very stubborn if he decides to take you I can't even think of stopping him'' I smiled and followed Simon. I saw Rose and Sofia in his car, what's going on. I sat beside Simon as Sofia and Rose were sitting in the back seat.
Simon started the car, I asked ' where are we going, how did you know it's my birthday I looked at Sofia ' So you are behind all this' She smiled. I asked Simon ' where are we going' Simon replied ' Please have patience my darling you will know soon ' I heard Rose giggling. We reached a restaurant.
Simon opened the door for me, then he opened the door for Sofia and Rose. We all entered the restaurant. The entire restaurant was empty, only the staff were seen and we were shown the centre seat. I sat between Simon and Rose. It was a round table. Then I saw the waitress bringing a tray and there was a huge cake with a picture of mine. Tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks. No one has ever given me a surprise on my birthday. Mum and dad always bought cake but Ryan never even wished me once. I cut the cake. They all wished me. We all sat and food was ordered. Then it was time for gifts.
First Rose gave me a small packet, I thanked her ' oh thanks my darling' and I opened it. It was her favourite doll she gave me. I hugged her with a smile. It was Sofia who gave me a cooking recipe book. I thanked her too. It was Simon's turn. He gave me a small box. I opened it and saw a key. I asked him ' what's this? ' He smiled and said ' wait will show you. what it is''
We all left the restaurant and then he stopped in front of a house and he opened the car door for me and then for Sofia and Rose. He took my hand and I walked behind him. He stood in front of the house and said 'open the door with the key I gave you. I was shocked he took the key from me and made me open the door. He said ' This is the birthday gift now onwards you three can stay here. I registered this house in your name. I suddenly took a step back ' I cannot accept this ' Simon ' Why not it's a gift ' I replied ' I'm sorry but I can't accept it ' Simon took my hand in his and said ' I want you to be safe and I don't want you to stay in that house where you had gone through a lot of pain please accept it, please' He pleaded I replied ' oh thanks for caring so much about us but this is too big a gift I can't accept.' Simon still holding my hand ' Ok then you do one thing you can stay here and pay me rent. I will know that you are safe as I bought the neighbouring house for myself. like that I will know you are safe ' I didn't know what to say and Sofia interfered ' I think that's great we will shift here as soon as we can. As it us the owner wanted the house back to renovate' I kept quiet. Simon smiled and thanked Sofia.
He took us inside the house and he showed Rose her room with lots of dolls and a pink coloured bed similar to the colour of the wall of the room. He then showed Sofia her room. An elegant room with a king-size bed. Then he took me to show him the last room it was my room he said ' Hope you liked the room I decorated it myself ' I looked at him I think he is falling for me I looked around it was the best room, he asked ' did you like the room ' I smiled and replied ' Oh it's the best one I love it '. He smiled. I asked ' You didn't buy this today to gift me, when did you buy this ' I bought this on the second day I met you' I looked at him shocked.
He bent down suddenly in front of me and said ' Will you marry me ' I was shocked and Sofia entered the room with Rose they saw, Sofia smiled He again asked ' Will you marry me please ' Rose shouted ' Yes momma I want him as my dad say yes ' I know I liked him He was still waiting for my answer there was a ring box in his hand. ' Please say yes ' he was saying and I looked at him and smiled and said ' Yes ' he got up, hugged me tight and put the ring on my finger. This was the happiest day of my life.
We were officially engaged and were getting married as soon as we got the approval of our marriage license. And the big day came, it was a simple church marriage with very few people. We kept Rose with Sofia and were flying to Switzerland, my favourite place for our honeymoon. He was holding my hand and I felt I truly got a partner who loved me enough for both of us. He held me as if I were a precious little thing.He looked at me and said ' Mrs Simon I promise I will love you my entire life. I fell in love the moment I saw you, I knew I can't let you go but then I found out you were married and it broke me I use to think why did you marry oh I was devastated and the day I saw that bastard trying to hurt you I knew I can't live without you, you were very much hurt and I waited for you to recover from that incident, I told Sofia to help me and I even spoke to your parents they all agreed to help me ' I smiled and replied ' Oh so I was the only one who was not aware of the conspiracy going on behind me ' I smiled and took his hand in mine and held tightly. I knew he was my world and I made the right decision of getting married to him.
After a year and a half, I was lying in the hospital bed and Simon was holding our son. Rose was standing next to Simon. And Simon gave our son to Sofia and sat near me and took my hand. ' Thank you my darling ' he kissed my forehead, now we are a complete family. We shifted to his house and Simon gave the house he gifted me to my best friend Sofia as her birthday gift. I looked at Simon, my heart filled with love for him. Now I have a loving family. He was holding me tight. I felt safe with the man I loved.
