My mother is Kunti. Daughter of King Bhoj. She is a woman of noble lineage. One day the sage Durbasha came to his kingdom.Sage Durbasha was the brother of Lord Dattatreya and was also a Brahma sage. Not only ordinary people but all gods were afraid of his terrible anger and curse.At this point, when the sage Bhoj reached the kingdom, the king became worried. But Mother Kunti eagerly took charge of the sage's care. For seven days Mother Kunti served the sage with absolute affection. Pleased with this, the sage Durbasha gave a boons to mother Kunti that she would have six sons as part of the six gods six times.Such days began to pass. One day mother Kunti was sitting alone. Suddenly she had doubts about the boon given by the sage.She looked at the sun god in the sky and worshiped him and called out to him. Lord Surya appeared and gave mother Kunti a baby with a divine armor and ears rings and said this child will be a great warrior and invincible in the future. His armor and ear rings will make him impenetrable.Mother Kunti said she was unable to accept the baby. Because she is unmarried and this society will never give her the status of a virgin mother. But Lord Surya said he was unable to take this child back. He must respect the boons of the sage Durbasha.After much thought, Mother Kunti decided to leave the child to protect her family and her dignity. She packed the baby in a basket and floated it in the holy river Ganga. Later, the basket floated to Hastinapur and a childless couple, Adhirath and Radha, raised the child.
