Away from the manor, a dark carriage road through the damp forest. The air was filled with the sound of water flowing not far from the carriage's track. "Maybe you shouldn't have left Lady Prudence with your sister," Drakos spoke from inside the carriage. The sound from inside the carriage refused to spill out, especially with the loud sound of the river.
Vincent took a sharp breath as he looked out the carriage window. The scene was just magnificent but his mind was getting carried back to what was going around in the manor.
"Maybe I shouldn't have," Vincent said while keeping his gaze outside.
Drakos raised his brows, "Then what would you have rather done?" He waited for Vincent to speak, but the Mafia king was deep in his thought. "Maybe she would have been safe with her mother," Drakos remarked.
A faint smile appeared on Vincent's lips.
