It has been the 7th night and the ones who survived was allowed to leave.
I step out of the forest, stretching my arms as I look about. I look untouched from any injuries as I glance at other people. Their clothing shows signs of fighting as there were small tears here and there.
Most of them stare at me, wondering how I didn't get at least a scratch.
"It's you!"
I turn my head around to see the trio.
"Oh, it's the idiot who almost died."I turn my body around to face them.
"I-.."He gets cut off when the girl replies to the statement.
"You almost died?"The girl lightly smacks his head.
"Yes?.."He turns away guilty.
I sigh at them arguing for a good 2 minutes before walking away.
Seeing how they were distracted, I walk over to the person in charge as they call for all fully-fledged demon slayers who passed.
They led us into a room filled with different ores for us to choose from.
I wandered about for a bit before stopping at a bright orange ore.
'This one feels pretty familiar...I wonder why..'I shrug before picking it up.
Handing it to the person, I went over to another room to have my measurements for the uniform.
I requested trousers instead after seeing the skirt. I almost burned the room down after seeing how short it actually was.
After handing it to me I went ahead and tested it out.
"Mhm, it fits snugly against my body."I pat the trousers.
The best part is I had a custom made haori from the demons as a gift before I left. I slightly chuckle to myself before slipping it on.
A dark crimson haori with pockets on the inner cloth and it has flannel fur on the inner cloth. The designs on the back were volcanoes and clouds.
'Comfy..' I smile contentedly at the soft material.
I walk out from the dressing room to see the trio from earlier checking out each other uniform.
I chuckle at the sight as I walk towards the entrance.
I stood at the entrance of Fujikasane Mountain when Giyuu ran up to me.
"I just realized I never got your name..."He pauses for a second as he was about to ask something else before that.
"Pfft..."I held back my laughter.
"Haru Hino, a pleasure to meet you."
"Giyuu Tomioka and this is Sabito and Makomo."Giyuu brightly smiles at me.
'So bright..'I close my eyes as the imaginary rays of light shine at me.
"Okay, so what do y'all need from me?"
"We wanted to invite you to come over to our teacher's place."
"We wanted to invite you over as a thank you for saving this dumbass."Makomo roughly ruffles Sabito's hair.
'Teacher's place? I'm not sure...'
I ponder for a bit, looking at the clouds before looking at the puppy looks they were giving me.
"Alright alright, let's go."I gave in and followed them as they led the way.
.
.
.
After travelling for 3 days we finally reach the place where they were trained.
After removing my shoes and socks I step into their house.
"Wow, your place is huge.."I look around the field to see others training.
Seeing how the trio was back, they all stop and came over to congratulate them.
An older man, Who I assume is their teacher then walks over to greet us. After explaining and introductions, he got Sabito and Giyuu into sparing.
I just sat with Makomo as the sound of wood smack against each other.
"Your form is sloppy, after a week being gone, you forget my teachings?"
Giyuu had a sheepish face while apologizing. Sabito just lay on the ground before Mr Urokodaki-san got them up again.
I spent the next two weeks there waiting with them for their katanas.
"Here, salmon daikon as you requested!"I place the bowl before Giyu.
He thanked me before digging in, complimenting my cooking.
I just smile at his childish behaviour before hearing a knock on the door.
"I will get it."I stood up.
I open the door to see a man wearing a strange lily-white mask, holding what seems like 4 katanas.
I received my once orange ore in a black scabbard. I also notice that there were volcanoes painted on it fitting my breath style.
The tsuba is a golden colour triangle, having the base facing the sharp part of the blade. The tsuka's wood was light yet sturdy. The ray skin covering it was a light ghost grey colour.
I unsheath to reveal a dark amber colour already forming on the blade.
'Wow, the colour is pretty..'
I swung the blade a few times to test it.
I was told that the ore I chose was unique as one of the swordmakers found it near an inactive volcano. Having no one else make a sword from a volcano, one of the top swordsmiths took lead and forged my katana.
I thank the man for bringing our katanas as I told him to tell the swordsmith who forge the katana to have my blessings.
Having the others receive their katanas, I wanted to go back to the Uppermoons since I had completed the final selection. I quietly slip into the night with my belongings and my new katana not before leaving a note saying I was leaving for 'family matters'.
