Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 24 - Shifting Clouds Setting the Stage

The kingdom of Recocto is a fine place...Lost for two era's until around the end of the fourth...Some...Fucking brilliant Elf hired a party to gain some of the Pure reserves that were there and they did outstanding...Yes of course you guest it...Bocaj the first king...it did not go so great at first for the poor blighters... Thirty-nine men from some "raid group" half a dozen orcs, Around a hand full of maniacal rangers and only about two or three clerics...Oh and a druid for some low cost healing you know how it is… could of been worse I suppose...All rangers would of just burned the thing to the ground...Poor creatures though don't concern yourself with them they are below even empathy at this point, would you not agree after all you don't feel bad putting down a murderer or a gnome. For they have forsaken it with their sin. Unlike are budding False Heroes now on the path to power. I guess not everyone is born into royalty though in theory anyone can obtain it. Now never mind those questions let's get back to the subject at hand...The play of the founding of Recocto was always a good laugh, I did attend once and it was hilarious...Two weddings on the same day just after and then finally the ruler will be decided not long after...Oh help me I do have a lot to tell you all.

A day had passed since the skirmish. Our adventurers have had time to recoup and mend their psyches and bodies, Mathis stayed in the palace for most of the day with Bee staying with him, talking about the future they are planning together, Wilt was with them for most of the night until he heard Mathis talk about his lab once more and asked about possibly using some supplies and had been gone ever since in the next room, an explosion could be heard every other hour but every time Bee went to see the goblin was fine, the others sleeping in the grand hall with most of the commoners working through the night to make the hall look like a moon shrine, a perfect place of Kyu's dreams as when the mourning came he woke to see the work that had been done, Baarias woke with him as she looked over to his face seemingly scanning the decoration,

''Why..must the sun rise in the sky Myr?''

Kyu murmured out before his fiancee's eyes opened to see her fancy green and purple eyes staring into his silver and apple green for seemingly too long as Kyu got uncomfortable as Baarias was barely an inch away from his face staring.

''Oh my sweet angel what happened to that eye?''

The fallen one's face became even more uncomfortable as she asked now pulling away before he looked at the sky and smiled,

''I will only tell you...If I don't have to play tennis tonight?''

The woman laughed before hugging him again,

''That's fine darling, We all night after the wedding.''

A single tear ran down the angel's face before he meekly nodded and spoke,

''Okay...O-Okay.''

The tension was broken by the sound of the door opening and waking the other two as Mathis, Wilt and Bee walked in,

the prince now looking fine and wearing a new outfit, A black dress shirt with buttons of both gold and silver in that order going down and a overcoat of worn leather Armor, embroidered with a shield of grey, adorned with three golden arrows each facing a different way and a pair of beautifully crafted leather pants and a cape of pure black with a hood to match, joint with a clasp that had the same insignia as the leather embroideries. Bee and Wilt were also dressed differently as the demon now was fashioned of the fine leathers taken from the Gale Oxen with the colours of black contrasting against his crimson red and cloudy grey skin, his one handed hammers now polished and cleaned with a strap attached to the bottom of each. Wilt dressed in fine leather also but mostly longer, his torso, arms and legs now covered in a forest green dyed Armor. Seemingly fashioned to accentuate every muscle and defining feature beneath their clothing looking like new men after their time of strife now looking like men of higher standing.

Orelia, Baarias and even Kyu were staring in awe, Orelia even blushing but not turning away but smile at her future husband before they came close and he kissed her before she embraced him tight making Baarias turn to the fallen one,

''See? That is how your meant to greet your future wife!''

''Oh...Okay.''

Standing full looking to Orelia with a look of misunderstood passion

''I have seen your dark ways but foolishly you fail to remember their cannot be shadows without light...Yoru please look away...For I must teach a harsh lesson.''

Embracing his future wife fully cupping the sides of her bussem then seemingly enrapturing her in his felt like wings caressing and moulding into her body as he breath was taken away from the touch of light then feeling the strong power of his tongue go fondling the insides of her mouth overpowering her before she could even release the feeling of overpowering fashion and strange made her feel almost weightless in his grip it was as if a thousand fibres were southing her very soul as she put up no resistance to this forceful advance and actually pushed forward more aggressive. At this point the crew had all left the chambers, after leaving the doors closed Jericho turns to Mathis,

''Well...Maybe now would be a good time to show everyone around right Seir...Mathis right?''

The younger prince looked at his older brother and placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled,

''I will brother...I will still happily accept it as a middle name in my new branch family...Go...You must have a lot to do now with the weddings and all Jericho D. Price.''

The older brother smiled before responding,

''Your right...Dear Sister you will hopefully keep this one in line...Oh how I do not envy you ahaha!''

She let out a smile as Jericho walked on and left the crew's sight and the prince spoke to the three remaining members of his crew,

Well then...Where do you want to see first? The monk monastery? The magic school? My duties on the land ahaha!''

Orelia and Wilt seemed to be in agreement when the girl spoke,

''Well the goblin does need supplies and learning new magic is never a bad idea...mostly.''

The four of them laughed as they made their ways behind Mathis.

They walked the streets all shining with happiness on the faces of every commoner they saw, people from all races of life from Elves to Orcs, Dwarfs to Goblins and everything else, Orelia was getting many bows and chants,

''ALL HAIL THE NEW PRINCESS!''

She smiled and waved at them in thanks before she heard Mathis laugh,

''You are a naturel they will love you! Ahaha!

She smiled as the street now opened up to show this behemoth of a building now stretching into the skies but the three had normalized this in their heads at this point as Mathis spoke,

''Welcome! To the Cardor institution of Knowledge and Power!''

The prince pointed his hand towards this impressive structure, that of bland green and grey that lead into finer and more luxury colours purple and gold seeming that had been formed from oils and paints rubbed into the ground though had the consistency of metal vanished with diamond powder the almost hallucinogenic scene stretched out into the walls bending out into and archways of wood, marble and runes carved out in a infinite looking shark devouring itself. Wilt and Orelia seemed to stare in awe at this beauty in front of them while Bee turned to Mathis,

''Nothing really here for me mate so where is the nearest drink?''

Mathis pointed back down the street they walked down before speaking,

''Down there and first turn on the right, It's called the Dwarven Dragon you won't be able to miss it...Tell Chef that Seirei says he will be in soon.''

The demon looked confused but nodded before walking away and down towards the streets end.

Mathis walked and grabbed the other two that were marvelling at the structure even still before pulling them inside. The internal design of this building matched the beauty that was on the outside but in a more unnatural way, The more the look the more they thought about strange concept almost forgetting why they were their it was like a drunken stupor mixed with enlightenment, A strange feeling though was they passed the peculiar pillars that bended like coiling metals into a bridge that defied all semblance of logic, This small section of the group feeling was if they were getting further away from their goal only to find themselves at the point they were working towards appear like solving a puzzle the path seemed almost a joke now seeing. Mathis chuckling to himself remembering how much worse this place was seeing his companions on the edge he pointed to the crystallin door was transparent, much passed anything they had seen in there breed they had seen with a sigil of the academy's crest, the group approached before Mathis stopped them,

"Don't worry it won't hurt you"

The structure moved backwards into the room almost like two invisible gatekeepers opened the doors into a room that resembled a study with leather seats and crystal tables, light streaming down from the floor like sun itself was passing through, illuminating the room in a soft white glow revealing an old Elvan lady dressed in a short over coat a white shirt a blue brooch with glasses writing some type of cards as she looked up then smiling.

"Oh you must be a royal with those eyes, I thought Yvonne was a girls name never mind you enlisting your friends"

The old lady said before seeing his eyes glow like turned embers.

The prince looked with confusion before he spoke,

''Daedalus sake have you finally lost your mind lady?''

The women's voice now sounded deeper and no emotion other than disdain,

''Oh...Willabaar...You've returned...Yay...Thank you the sky serpent himself.''

Mathis laughed to the other twos confusion before slamming his hand on the desk,

''It's Mathis now...Mathis Tysol.''

She laughed before she responded,

''A branch family? Means your just another visitor to me as I am the headmaster's right hand.''

''And I am her brother and the one who helped her find her new love...Oh and also the one who saved this kingdom from Zandar so maybe we will see about that!''

Her eyes widened as she then stood and bowed before they heard Baarias voice and turned to see her and Kyu being pulled in by the robes, seemingly drained of all energy and mumbling softly,

''Yoru please...Not for my life I beg you.''

As the fallen saw Mathis his life came back as he frantically spoke to the prince,

''Will-Seirei! Please save me from your sister! She has chains of hell and she wants to use them to make me her slave apparently...help me!''

Hearing the sound of soft pitter patter of cloth hitting the ground as Kyu panics, grabbing Mathis and throwing him towards the sounds and running as fast as his feet would allow him. Mathis flipping managing to land on his feet his sister having already passed him before he hit the ground, easily passing him by as the chains wrapping her arms began to glow grey with small strands of gold than launching the chain while screaming

"GET OVER HEAR!!"

The chain bouncing off the walls and roof before snaring the fallen one like a rabbit in a rope trap Kyu fell being dragged back towards Baarias' flaming form.

"You are the first to escape the unshattered passion plane and will be the last Angel!...Because I love you and don't need anyone else"

Kyu looked scared as he tried fruitlessly to grab anything before being dragged through a portal still crying as he was dragged through making everyone, even the old receptionist look extremely confused before she spoke,

''Okay...Well Lady Baarias seems to be preoccupied at the moment...While you're here it looks like your two friends would like a free class? Anything for the new princess and her friend.''

The two smiled and nodded frantically pushing Mathis out of the way as he spoke to himself in confusion,

''But...She is a princess because she is marrying me...You know what forget it.''

He moved forward with the others as the woman spoke again,

''Now now you should not backchat your elders young lady''

She said snickering at her comments before going back to the real question at hand.

''So what classes are you interested in both?''

She handed them a large parchment with over fifty classes to choose from, consisting of nearly every form of magic and anything related to it but Wilt pushed his green finger to one instantly and spoke,

''Alchemy for the advanced! Easy choice for me but what about yo...Ores?''

The girls face seemed psychotic scanning every class on the scroll and starting to drool slightly before snapping back and pointing at the one she found interesting making the woman behind the bar smile and snicker at the choice before Mathis grabbed the parchment and looked over and pointed at a class as well before handing it to the old woman who snatched it back before speaking,

''Okay so three for one class of Alchemy for the Advanced, three for one class 'Magics Basics and how to tame them and one more for three in Cryomancy: Secrets of Sub-Zero strength...Well I do hope you enjoy they will begin in five minutes starting with your alchemy class...Do hurry and enjoy your day oh and dearie's! good luck with master Dracul speech its well... something else''

The old lady said costing them towards the doors back into the strange hallucinogenic corridor of confusion and contemplation just about managing to take step forward onto the mixed matched tiles and flooring before disappearing into the archway as she sat back down, sighed and continued flipping through her paperwork

Returning back to the barbaric Bee now managing to get the tavern, The Dwarven Dragon seeing the tabard's dark blue background contrasting the green dragon being wrapped in chains of lightning and be stabbed by multiple warriors, walking passed the sign and into the establishment and hearing a loud happiness abruptly end as he entered while Bee looked over the patrons, All clad in Armor that looked very fancy to the demon but he paid it no worry, walking straight past until getting to the bar seeing a woman talking to the draconic older man he meet in that cave who smiled and waved before Bee smiled and sat on the other side of the bar, the barman now towering over the dwarf and covering him in his shadow as he looked up, A tall and wide Orc, mostly muscle but a belly had started to form with his green skin showing from his shirt with eyes of Bright blue and searing dark red, A blade that looked like two of the demon standing on top of each other and putting a horn down with a slam before speaking to the unphased dwarf who proceeded to pick up the horn as he spoke,

''So...Never seen your face before...you better have the money to pay for that as well.''

The demon finished the horn before burping loud then speaking,

''Well I am the bodyguard of Seirei, he is at the magic school right now but I was gracefully allowed by his royal pain in the ass to have a few, Also tell this 'Chef' he is planning on popping in afterwards.''

Drax stood and then walked over to the two,

''Chef he is telling the truth don't worry they are on me...I would not call him by such manner again if I were you right now demon.''

Bee turned and laughed,

''Really? It's what I call him to his face so I don't think your word over rules the boss ya know?''

He started to laugh only to feel a second shadow over him opening his eyes to see the women bring a two handed war axe down fast, Drax tried to move to stop her and did grab her attention for a split millisecond only for the axe to slam into the cobblestone and send dust and debris flying, she went to look around at the location of the dwarf but before she could look more than one area she felt a sharp touch press against her neck, looking down to see the demon with his serrated blade held backhand and running up against his arm, placed against the centre of her neck, she panicked as she opened her eyes to reveal they were the same as the rest of the family on the island making Bee pull back his blade and walk back to the bar and looked at the barman again,

''I'll take another of whatever the last one was for me and the princess I offended.''

Drax and the women stared in shock before Drax spoke,

''How did you know that she was a princess?''

''Huh? Ain't hard when every fucker in this twisted family has the same eyes!''

The woman now lowered her hood as we saw the rest of her face, another oddity within this oddity of lineage, a full Orc with the eyes of purple and green but scars riddled her face face, her hair a dark orange like a sunset in summer and shaved on one side, she spoke with a semi-deep voice but with a soft inflection as she placed her axe over her back again,

''I...I-I am Gura Price...First princess of Recocto and leader of the Recocton military...You said you were my brothers guard?''

Her voice then switched to pure cold tones,

''Unacceptable. If you cannot defeat me what chance do you have with the terrors that Seirei draws on himself?''

The demon laughed before he spoke,

''Aye...Where else in these shit lands can I get that kind of training with a boss who is actually not a complete pain in the ass...most of the time.''

''I warn you. Insult my brother once more and I will take your hand''.

''Anger god's sake why are all the Princesses trying to get married?!''

The dwarf said rolling his eyes and shunting his shoulders, opening his eyes to see a gloved hand back slap his lower jaw almost dislocating it, sending Bee downwards as he grabs her hand arm on the way down dragger her down it a tumble of terror as the bar moves out of place giving the two room to grapple as the men all rushed and the bar was once again filled with life.

Finding their way passed long corridors and walking up the seemingly endless stairs that formed under their feet with every step, finally finding a doorway appear in front of them, they walked through and found themselves in a room almost matching length of the throne room but no where near as tall but filled with young men and women all sitting down with bags adorning them and every available place. Wilt seemed like a child as he sat with anticipation while Orelia went to look at Mathis with a smile but saw the dread on his face as the teacher walked in. A skeleton of black bones with a toxic purple along the edges and a skull made of precious gems with the eye sockets empty of a mineral but up in a white fire, he stopped at the podium and looked at Mathis,

''Well Seirei...Take a seat...This will be fun.''

Well finding themselves in an academic power of the plane when anyone with class would choose to go and only what eighty to a hundred...possibly more years ago it was hidden in dense fogs of time to only be reclaimed by those it was meant to kill and it wasn't even the winners who got it up and working they waited for the heavy work to be done. After all, what idiots would think about going against the Cardor line? You would not fight a force of nature so why even bother...Oh sorry tangents again...You wouldn't know about such events would you? Maybe another time, back to are crew of False Heroes studying or experiencing a grand sky kingdom and are some of the few who just get to walk around these places but nepotism is always a good laugh to watch from afar enriching themselves in the tradition, academia and hmmm...cultural sides.
