Everything was a mess of blur… I couldn't see a thing at first except vision blurring

white mist. Then gradually, the sight came into view. I was in a room…no, it seemed a

huge hall with nothing but white walls. There was no furniture in the hall. A man stood

in the middle facing the wall. He turned around. He was a tall lean man. With a face so

charming that even I flushed at first. He had smooth brown hair which firmly fell over

his shoulders. He wore an elegant white coat and pants which fit him really well.

I asked," Who are you? Where am I? How I came here?"

"Cool down boy", the man replied in very calm tone," You are safe. I just want to tell

you to come at main post office and from there look out for an automobiles

showroom. At reception you'll meet a woman. Tell her the code 'mission for sake of

the world'

"But why..? Who are you?" I began, but everything went blur again and I was in my bed,

alarm ticking.

So it was just a dream.

Oops, sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Max Chase, a boy of 16 studying at L.A.

Middle School which is of course in Los Angeles, California. My mom's Suzie Chase and

she works at groceries' store. My dad's Charlie Chase and he's a business man and

always keeps travelling round the world.

"MOM!" I called out," Breakfast. I am late"

"Yeah, I'm on it Max", She replied

She was a beautiful woman with red hairs flowing in air as if it were fire and eyes that

shone the color of an ocean.

After having my breakfast and being ready I wished her bye and went on my bicycle to

my school.

It was a lovely day. At school I met my friends. Natasha, James, and Lucas. Natasha was

a pretty girl with lean and slim body figure. Brown eyes which matched the color of her

silky long hairs, gave her beauty a boost. James was very thin and the smartest of their

squad. Lucas was the fattest and most amiable and entertaining member of the squad.

"Hey guys!" I exclaimed," How're you all doing"

"Great", they replied.

I thought of telling them my dream. When I told them about it, Natasha was the first to

reply," Wait. Seriously? I had the exactly same dream"

James said," Yeah I also had this dream"

Lucas interrupted," Guys! This is not good. I also had this dream last night"

I replied," But how's this possible. This can't be a coincidence."

"Yeah but what can we do?" Natasha asked

"I know" James said in a determined tone "We will go to that place after school"

"Yeah that's a great idea" replied Lucas in an excited tone.

"So it's decided. We'll meet behind the school, okay?" I added

"Done" the squad repeated in unison

Just after school I met them at the place we decided to meet.

"You guys ready?"Natasha asked

"Yeah" everyone replied simultaneously.

We all took our bicycles and were off to the main post office.

"I know the way. Just follow me." James said

It was a short way to the place. We reached there within 15 minutes.

"So here we are" Lucas said, out of breath.

"There! See that building. It's the showroom" It read 'Miracle Automobiles'

It was a huge apartment gilded with glass. It shone fantastically.

"Let's go in there and see what's going on" I said

We walked to the apartment's showroom. The interior of the building was just as

stunning as it was from outside. A woman sat there as the man said in their dreams.

They all eyed each other and nodded.

"Hello ma'am" Natasha said to the lady in a very calm tone

"Hello" the lady replied very soothingly, "How may I help you"

"Actually" Natasha said and looked around so that other people don't hear her," I and

my friends had a dream last night so..."

"What's the code" The lady interrupted Natasha, her tone completely changed. It had

become harsh

"Mission for sake of the world" Natasha replied, a bit tensed

"Okay… good, welcome kids" her tone again changed completely. But this time it had

become sweet as sugar.

She stood and said," Come. Follow me" she led us to an elevator and told us to enter.

We did as she said and entered into the elevator. I thought it would be a special

elevator but it was a simple elevator with 16 floors to go.

"Where are we going?" Lucas asked curiously," What if it's a trap friends"

The woman replied, "Cool down boy. You are safe here." He eyed his friends, worried.

The woman pressed the elevator just above the button '16' and a sort of panel

appeared asking for a password. The woman entered a code, so fast that we were

unable to see it.

"What just happened" James asked in an astonished tone.

"I don't know" I replied

And then the elevator began to ascend.

It went from 1st floor to 2nd then to 3rd. I thought it would stop after reaching the 16th

floor…. But it went on ascending and its speed increased suddenly. So fast, that all of

us fell down. The woman helped us up. "Are you hurt" she asked politely

"No" We replied.

After a minute or so the elevator stopped. It opened into the same room where I was

the last night in my dream.

"Whoa" all of us shouted just at the same time. Our voice echoed all through the huge

hall. The man whom we saw was also there at the same point. He turned around.

The same person we saw in our dream…

"Welcome kids" the man said. His voice was even sweeter than the lady's voice.

"Who are you?" I asked. ,"And how did you reach our dreams"

"Yes. I mean it's scientifically impossible." James added.

"No, it's not impossible. I did it." The man replied.

"But, who are you? Why did you call us here?" Natasha interrupted

The man lifted his hand in air and waved it. The ceiling opened and there was open sky

just above them. The sight was fabulous.

The man said, "Um, so I'm going to answer all your questions. See I am a normal

human as you all are but I was born with many special superhuman powers."

He eyed a chair which was in the corner of room and it came up flying towards him. He

caught it with his hands and sat on it, "See? I've got some powers."

"Dude you're awesome" James exclaimed.

"No I don't think so" Lucas interrupted," Show me some more proofs that you have

supernatural powers."

"Yeah, of course gentleman" the man replied in a gentle tone. He looked at Lucas very

sharply. And then Lucas started jumping, screaming," get them off! Get them off please"

The man closed his fist and Lucas stopped shouting and jumping.

I couldn't see what was bothering Lucas. I said," What happened Lucas? Why were you

shouting out your lungs?"

He replied," A hundred spiders were crawling on my body. I could see them. But

suddenly they were gone."

Everybody looked at the man. He replied, "Need any other proof"

"No", we all said.

"Good", he replied, "Now let me answer you, why I called you here. I am the guardian of

this world. Now, that sounds exaggerating, but it's true. And I can't go everywhere to

save the world. So I appoint people and give them some powers so they can protect

places, like in Indiana, at Las Vegas, and other places. And also I am getting old, so I'll

need a proper person who has the ability to inherit my position as the guardian of this

world. Now leave this thing."

"But why did you call us" Lucas interrupted.

"Because I think you kids are special. I mean you have the potential to gain these

powers. I have watched over you." The man replied

"But we're just kids" Natasha said," And you save the world from what? Hackers?

Thieves?"

"There are many evil forces in this world kid" he replied," it doesn't matter if you're a

kid or not. You just need skills and determination. I have called you here to appoint

you as the protectors of Los Angeles. And it's one of the most dangerous places of this

world"

"But what if we fail in protecting it." I said

"That's why I will first take a test of you, kids. But you need powers to protect the

world"

The man closed his eyes and a sort of blue energy emerged from his hands. It went

into my body. Then a knife appeared into his hands. It flew into Natasha's hands. It

was fatal and very sharp. Its color was a mix of brown and black and red all blended

together. Then suddenly James jerked as if he got an electric shock. And then a key

appeared in his hands. It flew in the hands of Lucas.

"What did you do" I asked

Just gave you powers. You have the power to summon an energy ball. You can either

hit your enemy with it or you can use it to give energy to anything. Natasha has a knife.

It can change to any weapon or tool she wants. James has got the power to make

people see anything, just like the thing I did with Lucas. And Lucas you've got a key.

With the help of it you can summon any transportation. A car, a bus, a train or even an

airplane."

"WWHHOOAA" We all shouted together.

The man said, "As I told you. To be selected as a protector you'll have to pass a test.

I'll give you a mission. If you fail in this mission, you'll forget everything that happened

with you, the dream, and these powers. No powers will remain with you then. But… If

you succeed, then you'll have these powers and I will give you training of how to learn

and use your powers to the fullest. And then you will be capable of going on real

missions. Real enemies. Real fight. But you won't use your powers for bad things. You

must remember I have given these powers to you, I can even take them. Your mission

is that you will be escorted to a mansion, a huge mansion. There's a bottle sized

container containing diamonds in the middle of the mansion. You just have to bring

them to me. It's not a real mission. I had gone to the mansion to keep those diamonds.

Everything there is setup by me."

"Ok, we are ready." Natasha said.

"But there is one condition. During this mission you can use your powers only ones."

The man replied

We all looked at each other and nodded

"Ok" I said," We are ready"

"You will need a name for your squad. Um… 'THE DEMOLITION SQUAD'. Nice?"

"Yeah it's cool" James replied

The man replied, "So one last thing I want to tell you is that everything that has

happened here must remain between you and me. No one should know about your

identities. It can lead to danger to your family and even us. Not even your parents

should know about it. Okay?"

"Yeah", we all said.

I asked," We forgot to ask your name"

He replied," No one knows my true name. You can call me Tom."

He waved his hand and everything blacked out. It was like my breath was caught in my

throat itself. Then we all landed with a thud. Everybody gulped in mouthfuls of air.

And in front of us was a huge mansion just as Tom told them. We were at a dark place

just like a graveyard. The sky was a shade of dark purple, with black clouds swirling

here and there. The smell of air also gave chills. The mansion was just as horrifying.

The aura of that place sent a shiver down my spine.

"Guys, it's really bad." Natasha said," This place doesn't look good."

"Yeah, of course, it's not safe. We are here for a mission Natasha. And if we succeed

then our life will totally change. We will be superheroes." James replied.

"You are right James. Whatever's going to come in our mission we will overcome it and

succeed in it." Lucas said in a determined tone.

"Come on guys. The Demolition Squad can do this!" I said

"We can do this!" We all shouted together.

We advanced to the mansion. As we entered the main gate we saw fourteen guards

guarding the door which led to the door inside the mansion. They were armed with hi

tech weapons. Laser shooters. Assault Rifles. Machine guns.

"Now what?" Asked Lucas

"Leave this to me" Said James in a heroic accent.

He went forward and closed his eyes to concentrate. He waved his hand in air in

rhythmic manner. Then a miracle happened. James started shining bright as an

emerald and then….

All the guards, literally all of them shouted and shot each other. Not even one

remained.

"See!" Shouted James and started laughing," These powers are amazing!"

"Whoa! James. What did you just do?" I asked

"I just made them see each other a huge monster. So they thought of each other as

monsters." He laughed again and started dancing like he just saved the world. But he

really did save our mission. Though I knew it was just the stage 1 of our mission.

We all went to him and hugged him.

"Yes James! You are amazing" said Lucas

"Now only we three have our powers left." Said Natasha looking at me and Lucas," We

must use them carefully"

"Come on let's go and check for those diamonds."

We finally entered the mansion. The way was very narrow. The ceiling was low. But in

front of us the hall ran very long and the walls on the either side of them were also

very close. It was a tight packed place. We moved forward. Doors were on either side of

us. There were so many, we couldn't even count, every room same as the previous. At

the end of the hall was a staircase which led to floor 2nd and then to 3rd. then there was

a terrace, a huge terrace just as a badminton court. They went into each room

checking for the diamonds. But found naught.

"Hey! We just checked all the rooms and did not get the bloody diamonds" said

Natasha

"We must think something" I said," If finding those could be that easy, then it would

not have been a task for to-be superheroes"

"Tom said something" Lucas replied," That we will find the diamonds in the middle of

the mansion"

"Yeah, so I don't think the first floor can be the place to find the diamonds" added

James

"Then?" asked Natasha

"Just use your mind. Middle of the mansion" James replied

"It means, the diamonds are either on 2nd or 3rd floor" I said

"But we checked them" Lucas replied," There are no rooms on either floors"

"Who said we'd find the diamonds in rooms. They can be anywhere" I said

"Come on! Let's go check these floors again thoroughly." Natasha replied.

And we went to the second floor. For what seemed to be hours we checked both the

floors but found nothing.

"I give up!" said Lucas," I don't think we can find these diamonds"

"Don't lose hope Lucas" James said

Then something hit me!.... not physically, directly on my brain.

"I got an idea" I exclaimed.

I went to middle of the second floor and raised my hand and starting finding

something, then, I touched something in the air. A kind of a machine in the shape of a

ball appeared out of thin air.

"Hey! Max how did you know this" Natasha asked.

I replied," Tom said in the middle of the mansion. Then either it could be on the 3rd

floor or 2nd. But either won't be middle. So I thought let's try it. It can be in the middle

of 2nd and 3rd floor."

"Oh! You're a genius Max" said James

"Oh don't exaggerate James. It was just a stupid idea" I replied

"But what do we do with it. It looks dead." Natasha said.

"I know what to do" I replied

I concentrated every inch of my will, then, a ball of energy appeared out of nowhere in

my hands. My body felt energized to the fullest. It was like every molecule of my body

was charged and they would explode if provided more energy. I brought that energy to

the robot or whatever it was and touched the ball to it. The energy went through the

robot. And the machine started.

It transformed into a completely different thing. Its eyes opened and electricity whirred

through it. It was stunning.

"Max! You were fantastically incredible" Lucas said.

"Yeah, you were super cool" Natasha replied.

"Literally." James added.

"If you want the diamonds, then you'll have to answer the two questions I ask from you.

You ready?" The robot interrupted.

"Yeah we're ready." We replied.

"Okay, so my first question: 'what is always coming, but never arrives."

"Um…What can it be?" Natasha asked.

"Well we have James in our party for these kinds of stuffs" Lucas said.

"Let me think for a moment" James replied.

"Well, don't waste your energy James. I know the answer." I blurted out." The answers

is 'Tomorrow'" I looked to the robot.

"Congratulations! That's correct" the robot replied.

"You are great Max. Stole my wits, huh?" James laughed and hugged him. Natasha and

Lucas also appreciated him.

"Second" the robot interrupted, "And the last question: What belongs to you but gets

used by everyone else more than you?"

"That's pretty tricky" Lucas said.

"I got this!" James exclaimed

"What is it?" Natasha asked

"Natasha!" James exclaimed

"What?"

"Natasha!"

"What? Why are you repeating my name again and again?"

"Well, it's the answer" James replied," Your name is the answer. Our name is what

belongs to us but gets used by everyone else more than us."

"That was pretty smart" the robot grumbled.

And then it transformed into a container filled with beautifully shining diamonds giving

blue radiance.

I took the diamonds from the air. And then…. A loud deep shout cut through our joy

and at first pierced through our ears.

"What the hell!" I said.

"What was that?" Natasha asked.

I went to the first floor to check out. I saw a hundreds of things, no, not particularly

things. They were humans, but dead, just like zombies whom I thought just existed in

movies. Their clothes were ripped and masses of flash fell from their bodies. They were

coming for us.

I ran to the 2nd floor.

"RUN!!" I shouted louder than I meant to, "There are hundreds of zombies coming to

get us"

"But what do we do?" Natasha replied," We can't go anywhere. They'll get us."

"TERRACE!" James shouted," then Lucas will summon a helicopter, and we'll get out of

here."

But we were too late. The zombies had reached the stairs.

"We'll need distraction" I said

"I got this" Natasha replied," Just run and summon the helicopter. I'll be right back to

you. Just be ready. Okay?"

"No!" I shouted," We can't leave you alone"

But she didn't listen. She took out her knife and suddenly it changed into two handed

massive rifles.

The zombies had arrived, but Natasha showed her skills and began firing. Every

zombie which was touched by the bullets flew away like air. She looked so amazing

that for once I was jealous.

"Now RUN!" She shouted and she returned to her guns. They were not ordinary guns.

The bullets were shining black, like they had been recently painted and greased.

We did as she said and ran for the terrace.

"Come on Lucas! You can do it" I said as reached the terrace

He closed his eyes and threw the key in air. Suddenly the key materialized into a huge

shining helicopter in front of us. And the best part was… there was a pilot in it.

We approached the helicopter. Suddenly the sound of Natasha's guns faded. I was very

worried for her. But then she appeared on the terrace, out of breath her confidence still

intact, her brown smooth hair flying so beautifully that I wanted to kiss her. But then

was not the time for it. She jumped into the helicopter. The zombies which survived

reached the terrace and were coming for us

"Take us to the 'Miracle Automobiles'" I shouted to the pilot," Fast!"

And we took into air. It was a fantastic feeling. But suddenly everything blacked out.

I rolled out of my bed! "Gosh! No, this can't be a dream" I said

I looked around if there was someone to see me. Then I concentrated, so hard that I

started to sweat. And then... a blue fireball emerged into my fist!!!

It was the best day of my life….
