With those words coming out of his mouth, it shouldn't shock Eve knowing that Alexander in Molina's past life had done the dirty work for Diana but being the one on the receiving end of such treatment, she feels a bit helpless. Her lover doesn't even question her ability to invade people's privacy and security.
She's more surprised at how he is so nonchalant with it, Alexander Miller really functions on his own accord in this life.
With Eve thinking deeply about Alexander, the said man charmingly smiles seeing his opportunity, and proceeds to lessen their distance, and when Eve finally felt her lips parted open by another pair of lips and realizing Alexander is conquering her mouth with sensual deep kisses, made her returned to her senses. Eve was about to stop him from whatever his dirty mind was gonna do next when a loud ringing was heard in the living room.
Eve heard the unfamiliar and loud ringtone and knew it was serious business. Alexander was busy putting his hand under her shirt, snaking his hand to her soft flesh when Molina detached herself away from him, surprising the older man.
"Alexander, that's yours " Eve laughs when she sees how his staring so intensely at her, his gaze filled with desire yet mix with confusion until he snaps out of it and his mood changed, realizing what he was hearing at the moment was his phone.
Alexander clicks his tongue with displeasure from the interruption.
Eve could see how Alexander lowers his head with an annoyed expression then he sighs.
"I'll be right back," he says and kisses her lips one last time before leaving the dining room to answer the call. Knowing Alexander is busy with his own matters, Eve laughs a bit before she proceeds to her own business.
With her monitoring and non-stop snooping around the system, she was finally able to find something that would bring the Grahams down the dirt.
Although she's not worried about Hubert, that man had dug his own grave from what Eve had seen. it seems he was being betrayed during Molina's absence and was ignorant of his life being in danger.
Luckily, Eve doesn't need to do anything to put him down six feet underground.
During the past three years, there were movements from the people under Hubert as he sent men to watch over Molina, for whatever reason. Although such task failed on their side since Eve made a lot of fake addresses and had interrupted their search via hacking when they were hunting down her location, so it resulted in them going to the wrong places and finding a dead end.
There was no clear reason why Hubert would look for her when he was not dismissing the idea of disowning Molina, and it wouldn't be because the Grahams were worried about her well-being nor to take her back.
The said events made Eve suspect Graham's current wife Demi Graham, who was his former mistress. Eve knew she was a cunning woman who clings to a married man, made Hubert commit adultery, and climbed up the social ladder with her daughter.
Eve was now doing her routine check and collecting useful documents, she then closed the program and moved her screen to a new folder. Her eyes watch the screen carefully as she opens a surveillance video inside the Graham mansion from a year ago. This was another one she collected before Diana and her Mother wiped out the memory from every CCTVs inside the mansion.
She looks at the figures and saw Diana and Hubert chatting with each other with her mother.
It seems they would always bond together as a family and have freshments and snacks while talking about business.
" Such a happy looking family " Her golden eyes glint at the figures that appear on the collection of videos. Her smile turn into ridicule when it landed on Diana.
" Let's see if you can still continue to act innocent when we meet again Diana "
Eve closes the videos and folders before she opened an app that she designed herself.
She scrolled to files and chat logs, trying to find out about Hubert Graham's medical reports and even his past and present illegal acts involving money laundering, tax invasion, and even embezzlement.
She fished every scanned document and found suspicious projects under Graham's relatives years ago but she wanted to collect more dirt so she waited this whole time, Eve had thought that was it but surprisingly she found one after another. At that point, she had opened a can of worms the moment she digs deeper into her findings.
Surely, for a large company, it was too clean from the outside perspective. For it to become as successful as it is today, of course, there are going to be a few hidden secrets that were covered deeply.
Eve takes every file she could get and downloaded them to her hard drive without thinking for a second.
"Baby " Alexander spoke with a low voice behind her and Eve jumps into her seat from the sudden surprise. She would never get used to Alexander walking around without a sound, she sighs and consoles her frightened heart.
"Can you make a sound next time, I always get frightened from you sneaking up on m like that "
Eve turns around and saw Alexander with his brow furrowed on his face.
"What's wrong?" She asked worried at his expression.
His clothes had changed into a more casual attire. He was holding his phone as he combs his fingers through his dark hair before sighing. Eve looks at him up and down curiously seeing how disappointed he is at something.
"I need to attend a few meetings and might not come back for some time, are you going to be alright? " His phone vibrated that very moment but he seems to act as if he doesn't feel it on his hand nor hear the sound coming from his phone. His eyes stared at her face, looking at her in worry.
Eve chuckles at his behavior.
"I can manage on my own, you know that right? " She confidently says and leaves her seat, she proceeds to walk but Alexander grabs her hand.
Eve looks back and sees how unwilling he is to leave.
She finally laughs seeing how he was pissed and at the same time worried.
"Come on now, I'm going to see you out of the door. " her smile brightens when Alexander has a frown on his face. Eve takes his hand in her own and drags him to the entrance.
"I think it has something to do with the Grahams, my secretary called to say there might be new changes in the Grahams company " Alexander doesn't hide the main topic of his call and Eve wasn't surprised that he was even telling her.
"Rumors are circulating in the business circle about Hubert and his Company, I wouldn't want to believe it but seems my bother also made a move and wanted to help the young Graham."
"Your brother? Did he keep Diana close and introduced her as his fiancée at every party? " This was not a surprise to Eve, she did remember Ethan and Diana having a very intimate relationship with each other.
"Something like that, apparently he had a change of heart and wanted to compete with me now " he stops as he finished his words the moment Eve had heard him, she looks surprised at that news.
"What? Ethan did? How-- " How did I not know that?
In Molina's memories, Ethan didn't want to be burden by the company much less become the actual company president. He was the kind of man who was satisfied with having the position of being Alexander's brother and nothing else.
This character also took a 180 from the looks of it.
"You shouldn't think about it, " Alexander caught the obvious troubled expression on her face and lessen their distance, he kissed her lips and smiled.
"I'll be back as quickly as I can, so don't miss me too much " He tried to lessen her worry and Eve knew how he is taking care of her at this moment. She couldn't help but lean into his chest and hugged him.
Alexander was happy to receive such affection from her.
" I'll be right here when you return so go safely" Although things took an unexpected turn when Alexander Miller choose to protect the villainess of this world and became her lover, the progress bar is still slowly filling the gaps and as long as Diana continues to live, the world won't collapse.
Eve's goal is for Molina to successfully have her revenge, complete the world's progress before any of the main characters die, and find a way to escape from the New World Order.
