Chapter 115 - Unconditional Love

Aten took a sip of his wine. The gold cup felt smooth on his finger tips. "Your brother was amazing".

Aten turned around to see his master Adin standing in the doorway. "Yeah, it was a good fight. Azzoro gave the guy work". Aten said. He finished his drink and walked out of the building.

"The ten want us to have a meeting". Adin said.

Aten stopped. "Wait, the…nine?! Are you serious?! That's great! I can finally-"

Aten noticed Adin's facial expression. "It's nothing you'll like to hear. These are gods…don't get too excited. Just behave yourself…Aten".

******

Aten and Adin where in front of two giant golden doors that reached the sky. Two eight foot soldiers covered in gold. "Have a meeting with the ten. Let us pass". Adin told them.

The two soldiers looked at each other and back down. They slammed their weapons on the ground and the doors opened.

Adin took the lead. Aten walked with his head high. The two soldiers looked at him, as he dissapeared into the darkness.

Aten glared at them before the doors shut.

Aten turned around to see nine giant shadow-like beings sitting on giant thrones around them.

Adin quikcly kneeled and grabbed Aten. (These are the ten legendary gods! I can't believe it. Their power…it feels like my body is gonna get crushed by a planet!)

"RAISE YOUR HEADS". A god ordered.

Aten and Adin did so. "My leaders…this is Aten Anunnaki. One of my students".

"THE FATHER?" A goddess asked.

Adin gave Aten a worried look. "We…do not know the parents".

The gods fell into a silence. "HA…HAHAHAHA!!!" All of them bursted into laughter.

Aten had a disgusted look on his face. He bit his lip to force himself from snapping back. "I don't think it's appropriate to laugh at such a thing." Adin replied.

One god stood up. "This is the child you had a vision of, Nut? This is the child…you said he was supposed to be a threat. I could kill him if I wanted to."

"You're right. You could easily rip him apart. Which makes him a non threat like you mine think." Adin said.

The gods mummered amongst each other. "Aten, stand." A goddess ordered. With his head down and hair over his eyes, Aten stood on his feet.

"We know the truth. Their is no point in lying to us. I've never met a duo who's ever not told the truth to us." She said.

One god struck his fist on the chair. "We know you don't have parents. You were born from pure aura. Never before seen amongst our race!"

Aten's eyes grew. (How…did they…the only people who knows that…is my master, my brother, and…her. Did she…tell them?)

"I apologize for starting off this way. But, it is true. I was created from pure aura. It just bothers me. I've always wanted a big family. That's the truth." Aten said in a calm voice.

"You wish to be one of us?" Another god asked.

"It's been a lifetime dream of mine. I've always wanted to be a god. That way, I can bring peace, balance, and order to the homeland. Even help other species."

"That's cute." A goddess moaned.

"We still can't ignore the sign! Have you all forgotten who we are? We were chosen by the one! We are the ones who have to protect! If we allow…this thing to grow up, he'll kill everyone!"

"Calm down, old man. Even if he were to grow big and strong, he'd have to fight all of us. And let's not forget our families and armies he'd have to get through. We have time, Anubis."

Anubis held eye contact. "You are the war god. I…suppose we could wait a little longer before deciding what to do with him. I'll trust you this time, Horus."

Horus shrunk to normal size. He walked down the long staircase and held out a hand in the light. Aten and Adin had never even seen a part of a god before. His hands were giant and looked powerful. "Between you and me…I don't plan on letting anything happen to you. I'm two weeks or so…we will all see you again. I'd like to meet with you tonight. Meet me on Naught."

"Yes sir."

******

Aten and Adin landed on the home world. The golden kingdom shined bright. "Are you okay, Aten? I can sense anger within you, my friend." Adin sighed.

"They…knew. Why…why didn't you tell me they thought about killing me?! How am I a threat?! Because I don't have parents?" Aten paced himself back and forth. "Aten, would you just calm down and listen?"

"Sure." Aten said with a straight face.

"The gods…I couldn't tell you how they really are. I hide all of my emotions. They're nothing but jerks and cocky fools. I didn't want to tell you…because I knew you wouldn't believe me. Now, I don't know why they wish upon your death, but I believe the gods fear you because you're different. But, I…did some snooping. Would you allow me to reach in my pocket?"

Aten nodded his head. Adin pulled out a piece eve of paper and held it out for Aten to read. "This is your writing. I found this in your room. Aten, you-you truly believe that?"

Aten uses his aura and burnt the piece of paper. "There's only one god. I knew the gods were messed up beings!" Aten looked around and pulled Aten in close. He whispered softly in his ears.

"I don't want you to act out. I know you're not an emotional warrior but, you remember when…you lost her?"

Adin's eyes widened. "Yes."

"Don't you think it was fishy that-never mind." Aten stepped away and bowed his head. "Sorry for bringing it up, sir. Just…watch yourself with them. I never trusted them. I feel nothing but anger when I talk about the gods. Those are my true feelings, Adin."

Aten turned around and walked towards the kingdom. "Aten!" Adin called out.

"Yes?"

"Don't tell anyone what's on that paper. It'll…cause…differences."

"I understand. Have a good day, friend."

Adin nodded. "Right."

******

Adin slowly walked in the room and tip-toed around. He jumped on the ground and hugged his wife, Ama. "My queen. How have you been?"

Ama had perfect pink lips, a bright smile, long black hair, perfect white teeth, and smooth bright skin.

"I'm okay. Just…in a little pain. I'm glad to see you. You have any plans today? I'd love to cuddle with you, baby."

"No plans. Just you, me, and our son."

After catching up and talking, Adin had something on his mind. "What's wrong? I can sense something is bothering you." Ama said while rubbing Adin's face.

"Aten met the gods for the first time today. In person."

Ama leaned forward. "Really?…well, he found out?"

"Yep. How all of them are just assholes. It's our job to keep stuff like that a secret amongst our people. We're warriors for the gods. I just…didn't expect them to show their nature to someone they considered a threat."

"How is the boy a threat? We practically raised him. He's not a threat at all."

"Ama…we both know he was made out of aura. The gods…the gods didn't. A being made out of aura is unheard of. One of the goddesses had a vision of Aten being a threat. I believe that was after they found out. Or, she is lying. Either way, this ain't good. They're deciding what to do with him as we speak."

"Why if they want to kill him? What would you do?"

"I'd do what's right."

"Which is?"

Adin sighed and lay on his back. "Remember when we first met? We were in the king's golden castle. Every few moons, the capital and all of its people are gathered."

"Yes, I remember that. I'll never forget it."

"Right, I know. But you kept on pushing me away. Even after the castle, you didn't even have my attention. But I never stopped fighting for you. I'd do the same for Aten."

Ama held strong eye contact with Adin. "Hmmm….good. But you aren't being completely honest, babe."

Adin's eyes widened. "What are you talking about?"

"I sense the anger in your heart. You hate the gods too, don't you?

Adin didn't say a word. He looked up at the black ceiling above him. "I know we've raised him and all. Hell, I know what I'm about to say might sound crazy."

Adin slowly changed his gaze. "We both put our faiths in that child. If it came down to it…I want you to continue putting your faith in him. Even…over me and our child."

"I would never do that."

"Listen to me, babe…please?"

Adin gave her a slight nod.

******

Aten walked around the crowd of people. Amara tapped him on the shoulder. "ARENT YOU HAPPY TO SEE ME?!?!?!!!!"

"Are you ever gonna be quiet?"

"Not until I get a little hug." Amara held out her arms and shakes her hips with a smiley face. "Come on…come on…I won't bite."

Aten rolled his eyes and smirked. "Where are you headed to?" Aten wrapped his arms around Amara's waist.

She lifted her head to reveal her smooth shining skin, perfectly slim face, white teeth, brown eyes with a shine in the middle, and beautiful long black hair that stopped below her waist.

"Won't you take this dance?"

"Amara, I'm not in the mood-"

Amara pulled him in close. "Just a quick one, Aten."

Aten and Amara began to swing their hips side to side in a very slow paced motion.

(In our culture…when someone ask you "won't you take this dance?", it means they've just admitted to having feelings toward you. Amara has liked me for a while…I have feelings toward her. She just doesn't know me enough for me to fall.)

The sky was orange. The white and orange sky looked beautiful. The reflection pierced through Amara's eyes. Aten stared deeply into her eyes, staring at the reflection.

(Beautiful) he thought.

Amara's cheeks turned a little red. She could feel Aten's chest moving her head up and down. She closed her eyes and imagined a future with Aten.

"It's…getting dark. I have to go soon."

"So soon? It was just getting nice…don't you think?"

Aten looked up at the sky and chuckled. "Yeah."

Amara took a step back and nodded her head. "I won't hold you up too long. I know you're busy. I'll…see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah. We have a little mission with Adin anyway."

"See you then."

"Peace."

Future events

Half of Island X's New York was in complete rubble. Millions were dead and Jade was on two knees, watching in horror.

Aten held out his hand towards Xavier, who was badly injured. Jade was missing her left arm and right eye. She couldn't speak from her throat being cut by Aten.

Xavier stood their. A bloody mouth, bruised all over his body with his burnt marks, and covered in blood.

"We…have…it all we had. Hehe…we gave him hell, baby."

Jade shook her head at Aten. Aten smiled.

******

"You couldn't even give your heart for him."

******

Aten grabbed Amara's arm. "W-wait. Can we…just hangout? I haven't been able to…you know, chill lately." Amara's eyes lit up. "Of course! There's so much to do! But, I think I know what you'll like."

Amara covered Aten's eyes and flew away from the kingdom. (I was supposed to meet with Horus…but it'll have to wait).

Aten felt a ground beneath his feet and heavy wind pushing his hair back.

Amara moved her hands away from Aten's eyes. Aten was on the edge of a cliff. There where millions of stars covering the sky. A couple shooting stars, and bright colors in the background.

"I never seen this place before. It's amazing."

"Right. I found it. I was bored one day and just found it. I sit out here all of the time."

"By yourself?" Aten asked.

"Yeah. It helps. Helps clear my mind, makes me feel better, confident, powerful, and beautiful. Everyone needs a little something to break them free from their life. A hobby, friends, family, and more."

"True. I just never knew you'd come here alone."

"I'm always alone, Aten. That's why…I try to see you as much as possible."

"I see. Forgive me, Amara. I had no idea-"

"No one does. You know…I visited my father and mother after your brothers fight. I knocked and knocked. Finally, my father answers the door and says: "what do you want?" Hell, I keep talking on and on. What a fool I am, huh? Anything makes me happy. I just get so sad when no one understands me or talks to me. I annoy people because I talk too much…but I can't help it. I barley get to speak throughout my day." Amara explained. She sat on the edge of the cliff, looking down at the waves of water hitting against it.

"Hmm. I see. I wish…I had parents." Aten whispered.

"What was that?"

"N-nothing. But, about your parents and your loneliness. It's okay. It's life. The most I can say…is live for you. Don't live trying to impress others. We only have one life…it's not a dress rehearsal, we can't get up and do it all over again. Better yourself and the people around you. It'll make you become a better person in the end." Aten explained. Amara stared at him. "You're…really deep."

"Shut up." Aten said with a smirk.

"Shall we…go back home?"

"I'd love to."

******

I didn't think anything of it. Amara had my heart. Everything was good….everything.

******

Aten woke up in the middle of the night. Horus was talking to Aten through his head.

(You still coming, kid? I have information for you!)

Aten rolled out of bed and flew towards the planet. Naught was a deserted planet with no life. On the edge of the paradox.

Aten landed on the planet, causing a crater that nearly destroyed half of the planet. He could see and feel Horus's powerful aura. It covered the entire planet like a storm.

Aten could see a tall man standing in the middle of the field. Not too far away from him.

(What could a god…possibly want?)
