The people living in that area were no strangers to monsoon drizzles, but this one had come with no forewarning. Not long ago, there was not a single cloud in sight, yet now, the rain was heavy enough to cause flooding in the nearby rivers. Although it was just the middle of the day, it was dark enough to make one think that the sun had already set.
Suddenly, a streak of lightning lit up the sky. The booming thunder that followed it shattered any semblance of a peaceful atmosphere that lingered in the air.
