Darkness.
As far as senses could reach, there was only darkness: darkness so thick and suffocating; darkness so viscous that one might be able to swim in it.
After his body entered the portal once more, Yun Lei had found himself floating through this darkness. There was no solid ground beneath his feet and yet, he appeared to be moving in a certain direction. Which direction? He did not know. With nothing to use as a reference around him, that was impossible to determine.
He had regained control; he could clearly move his hands and legs around. However, no matter what he did, he couldn't control the movements of his body. It was as though there were strings attached to him, pulling him forwards despite his every attempt to resist.
