As Shaun readied to leave, his phone rang. He looked and the caller, and it was Gracy. He hadn't spoken to her with all that had been going on. She was quite the understanding girlfriend, so he felt guilty that others knew what he was going through before her.
"Guys, give me a sec," he excused himself and answered the call.
"Hey, beautiful, I've got something to tell you, and it might just be the weirdest shit you ever heard."
Nick looked in the rearview mirror and saw Cindy looking longingly at Shaun. To get back at her for the previous threat, he said, "Aren't they a nice couple?"
Instantly, his seat was kicked forward, and he bumped his head on the dashboard.
"fuck!" yelled Nick as he rubbed his forehead.
"I'm sorry that must have hurt. You see, sometimes my foot has spasms. It can't be helped with tight spaces," apologized Cindy.
