After their wedding, the rain poured hard outside. Then news that a typhoon would be coming on Saturdays and Sundays.
They had to fly back before the typhoon would make a landfall.
So after the wedding, Jane and Edric shared a meal with everyone and after that, they had decided to pack up their bags.
"Mama, I'll call you when we landed okay? Don't worry, we will meet again. We might come back home for Christmas and New Year, depending on our schedule." Jane comforted Mrs. Sanchez who was getting emotional while looking at her.
"I'll miss you, Jane."
"I'll miss you too, Mama." She then turned her attention to Anton and Naomi.
"You two, don't be so naughty, okay? Help Mama with the household. Even if we already have the help, be responsible. Treat our helpers with respect. They're still like us."
"Yes, Ate. Don't worry, we will." Naomi was sad just like her mother.
While Anton didn't look at his sister. He was still upset that she was now married to Edric.
Then Jane took her phone and went into her mobile banking app.
She had earned a few hundred thousands from trading and she transferred them to Mrs. Sanchez's account.
When her mom heard the notification from her phone, she immediately checked it and was shocked to see 1.5 Mllion pesos added into it.
"Jane!"
"No Mama. It's yours. Please accept it. I'm still going to make some in the future. I know it's a small amount but use it as an additional capital for our online bakery."
Hearing Jane's kind words, Mrs. Sanchez cried even more. She's grateful and felt blessed to have such a good-hearted daughter like her.
"Jane! You're really my lucky charm!" She said in between her sob.
"No Mama, the moment you saved me that night, you have become my lucky charm."
The family hugged one last time. Edric then descended downstairs with Phil following behind him with their suitcase.
"Let's go."
Mrs. Sanchez beckoned Edric for a hug and then she said, "Edric I know I don't have to say this when it's you but take care of my daughter."
"Don't worry Mama. I WILL."
They settled inside the van and started their journey going to the airport where Edric's private plane was waiting.
Jane could see her Mama and her siblings waving their hands as they bid them goodbyes before they completely went out of the gate.
"Take care!" Naomi's innocent voice echoed and she could still hear them despite the petter patter of the rain.
They drove in a constant and steady speed. They'd only slow down a little when they're about to pass a curve.
The road was slippery so they had to be careful.
While they were at it, Judge Martin was talking with Edric while Jane decided to plugged in her earphones and decided to listen to the music.
She didn't know that they have finally arrived at the airport had Edric not tapped her shoulder.
The journey from Jane's town to the city where the airport was, took four hours.
"We're here. Let's get down." Jane lazily stretched her arms and legs with a yawn at the same time followed Edric on the way out.
Jane and Edric didn't bother changing their clothes so they were still in their wedding outfits since earlier and Jane looked absolutely stunning.
Phil waited for them outside with an extra umbrella in his hand.
Edric grabbed it and let Jane to take shelter behind her.
It was raining hard and the airport won't allow them to leave.
And so, they had no other choice but to get inside the airport and wait there.
Jane subconsciously wrapped her hands around her arms and rubbed them gently to create friction.
Edric saw that and with no hesitation, he removed his jacket and put it around her.
Jane mumbled a soft "Thank you" to him.
While they were at the terminal, Jane and Edric decided to have something to eat.
It was a long trip and so Jane became.hungry.
Everyone's eyes were on them at first because they're both so eye-catching together.
Edric saw that she's uncomfortable being stared at and he did something. When he flicked his thumb and index finger together, they no longer looked at them.
They had waited for an hour for the weather to calm down outside.
When they were finally cleared to go, Edric grabbed Jane's hands and walked casually out.
"What are you doing?" She asked him.
"Don't worry. This is just for publicity."
They have to act like they're really at it in public.
"Just in case my family will doubt us. So you better smile." He added.
Jane had no other choice but to obey.
So this was all for show.
'What are you expecting Jane?' Edric asked her through telepathy.
"Nothing."
They boarded the private plane and both settled down.
Their dinner was served while they were in the air.
It was already almost nine when they landed at the airport.
When they arrived, they immediately walked towards the parking lot where their car was parked.
It was drizzling a little bit when they were on the way.
Jane frowned as she just realized something interesting about her husband.
He was this rich yet he was never surrounded by any guards. Unlike those rich billionaires who would have seven to fifty body guards around them for their safety, he only had Phil with him.
However, she was grateful for this. At least her movements won't be limited because someone was always following her wherever she wanted to go.
She didn't like someone following behind her back all the time.
When they arrived in the mansion, Jane watched Edric going upstairs. On the other hand, Phil was carrying their suitcases from the car to the house.
"Do you need any help, Phil?"
"It's okay Young Madam. Don't worry, I can handle them well."
Including her own, there were five suitcases all in all.
"Who's that Young Madam you are referring to? Call me Jane like before."
"Absolutely not, Young Madam! You're now the Mistress of this house. You're now Madam McWilliams. So, I should address you properly."
"Oh!" Since Phil insisted on addressing her with this title, then she had no choice.
Jane settled down in one of the sofas in the living room and then asked him.
"Phil, do you clean everything in this huge house on your own?"
"No. Sometimes the Young Master would call cleaners once or twice a week. The Young Master was really a private man that's why he didn't hire stay-in and permanent cleaners." He explained.
"I see."
"Yes, if you may excuse me Young Madam, I'll bring these upstairs."
Before he could take a step, Jane called his name.
"Ahm, Phil!"
"Yes, Young Madam!"
"Can you send me back to my dorm?"
Phil frowned when he heard her said that.
"Don't you like staying here with the Young Master, Young Miss?"
"Ahm...you know the substance of this marriage, right?"
"Yes. But as Young Master's wife, shouldn't you be doing your responsibility as a wife? You won't be able to do that if you'd both live separately."
Phil had a point.
"I'm still a student Phil. I have to live in the dorm."
There were a few exemptions though. If she would really want to she could stay out of the campus.
However, they could not reveal in the whole campus that she's married to him. After all, he's one of the faculty in the campus. Romance between a student and a teacher was never allowed.
But seems like Edric had no care about it.
"Negative, Young Miss. It's still raining outside. I advised you to stay here till Sunday afternoon and if Young Master would allow you to go to your dorm and not stay here, I'll send you there."
Right, they hadn't talked about this yet. She still had to convince him to allow her to stay in the dorm. The last time, she did agree to it but she's hoping she could make him change his mind.
After all, this was just a nominal marriage. And he married her because he was sure that she won't develop any feelings for him.
Right?
Jane had no other choice but to stay for the night and then she would talk to him tomorrow.
Phil then led her to her room which was just directly opposite to Edric's room.
She was glad that Edric was mindful enough to let her stay in a separate room and not in his room instead.
She didn't know if she could sleep in the same room as him. She was not ready for that.
"Thank you, Phil."
"You're welcome Young Madam. I have already placed your suitcase beside your bed."
"Okay Phil. Goodnight."
"Goodnight Phil."
Jane then prepared herself to sleep.
The next morning, Jane had not seen Edric.
She wondered where he was.
Good thing Celeste and Mrs. Shaw came to visit her. She greeted them outside of the house.
"Jane!"
"Hello Pretty Sister!"
"Hello Mrs. Shaw. Celeste!"
"Oh wow! Look at you! You have become confident to show off your bareface now, huh."
"Little by little, Mrs. Shaw."
"Anyways, stop calling me Mrs. Shaw. You're already Edric's wife. Call me Lilith." Mrs. Shaw told her.
At first, Jane was hesitant. She was used to addressing her as Mrs. Shaw.
"Okay, Li-lith."
"Good! Now, let's get inside and let's discuss about your marriage."
As she heard Mrs. Shaw talking about marriage, for some reason Jane instantly blushed.
"Wait, I still have to tutor Celeste today."
Mrs. Shaw looked at Jane in confusion so she asked.
"Oh? Didn't Edric tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"That every weekend, I'm going to teach you how to be a wife of a noble lady."
"What?! How about Celeste?"
"Hmm. I decided to be her tutor instead."
Jane had become silent as she followed Mrs. Shaw to the living room.
She really wanted to be with Celeste over the weekend.
She just couldn't understand why but she had grown attached to her.
Seems like Mrs. Shaw could hear what's in her thoughts and so she said something to reassure Jane.
"Don't worry, I'll bring Celeste with me every time."
"Thank you." Jane said as she sat down in one of the sofas.
"So, when will our session starts?"
"Next week. For now, I'll accompany you. After all, it's boring here in this big house."
"Why? I'm not alone here. Edric--"
"Edric messaged me to accompany you while he is away for two days."
'What? When did he leave?'
She woke up early this morning but only Phil greeted her. He didn't mention where Edric was either.
"Why? Do you miss your husband?"
"--__--"
