The following morning Jane got the message from Mrs. Shaw that the family had agreed to send Jake overseas so he could have a better treatment. She felt hurt for Jake and guilt still consumed her.
After hearing the root cause of Jake's condition, Mrs. Shaw confronted her husband. "I know I'm such a failure. I failed to protect my wife from my father's psychological abuse. But Lilith, I'll assure you that it won't happen to you or to our daughter."
"How can you prove that your father won't hurt me, Robert?"
"Because he promised to me. He wouldn't lay his finger on my family again."
"Robert, wake up! Even if he said so, he's trying to shove his ideology to your sons. Can't you see it? They're being pressured by his belief. You're always away that's why you don't know a thing." Mrs. Shaw was really frustrated.
"Lilith, please! Let's not argue about this. I need you. I need you to watch over them when I couldn't. You have agreed to this the moment you agreed to marry me."
