Meanwhile, Jake had arrived at the Shaw Residence and he inwardly cursed when he saw the General's car on the garage.
Of all the time that the General would come back from the house, he did it when he was also visiting.
And when he came in, he was sitting on the living room with a news paper in his hand and a cup of hot coffee on the coffee table.
Jake was reluctant to greet the old man. After all, the last time they met didn't end good and he was forced to make the decision of leaving the house.
"Oh! My prodigal grandson's back! I thought you vowed to never step your foot in this house. Are you already having a hard time now outside that you wanted to go back?" Gen. Shaw said in an overbearing tone.
"Not now Sir. I'm not here to start an argument. I'm here to see Mama Lilith." Jake really wanted to avoid the general so much and so he tried to be as polite as he could when talking to him.
But it didn't mean he wanted to reconcile. For him, that's far from happening.
