"Dad! What do you think you're trying to do?"
"She hid the fact that Jane's actually Young Master Edric's wife. Had she tell us beforehand, we could have saved ourselves from the humiliation." Gen. Shaw was really upset that he looked like a fool in front of Edric.
"Dad. Please not now. I'm sure she has her reasons." Mr. Shaw defended his wife to his own father.
"Dad, you won't believe me had I told you this before, would you believe me?" Mrs. Shaw asked him calmly like the more mature one between them.
"Did I show any contempt towards Jane just like you did? We owe her for saving our princess yet you went to accuse her of something else." 'You only have yourself to blame for treating Jane that way,' she continued inside her mind.
She now had an idea of what happened back in the party when she left.
Gen. Shaw felt like he was being poured with cold water.
"Dad. Please let us stop this. Reflect upon your mistakes tonight."
