Alice opened her eyes and realized that she was already in the room. When she looked at the window, the sun had already revealed its light. Her hand rubbed the pillow and mattress beside her, where Vincent usually slept, and now the place was empty.
There was a sense of disappointment when she found out about this because usually, she would wake up with Vincent beside her. Vincent was pleased and excited about his discovery. If Queen Annabelle allowed Vincent to go, then she would be far away from her husband.
Alice sighed. She didn't know whether to be sad or proud of her husband's responsibility.
Just as Alice was about to get out of bed, the door to her room opened, revealing Vincent's fresh and handsome face. His face was full of smiles, expressions that Alice had never seen before. Seeing her husband's expression, Alice was sure that Queen Annabelle must have allowed Vincent to go to the bridge construction project.
