"Do come in, Mrs. Stallard. And all." Her voice invited.
Mrs. Floris, the head maid, at last, welcomed the envoys. She gave them one chance, only one like Yuki begged for, to meet Madam Charlotte Dawsey. Mrs. Floris, with another young female servant, led Yuki and Damien to her madam's room on the second floor, and the others waited, as usual, in the drawing room. On the way to the madam's room, Yuki saw lots of self-portraits and paintings of the Dawsey Family, the only affluent household in Ely Town. Though the Dawsey House had no Baron title and were not born as a long generation of elites, this family had born dozens of eminent doctors. Yuki believed the man in most of those paintings must be Dr. Hansel Dawsey. And the beautiful lady next to him must be Madam Charlotte. And the boy in the middle of the pictures, who seemed like five or six years old, must be their only son.
