Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

"What's your father's name??" Shravan asked

"Vihaan" Drishti said

"Your mother and sister??"

"My mom Diya and my sister Damini"

"You are all D huh??" Shravan asked

"Yupp"

After the dinner Shravan went out to the terrace and made a call to his PI

"Shravan Maheswari"

"Yes Mr Maheswari. How can I help you??" the PI asked

"I want you to collect information about someone"

"Sure Mr Maheswari. Can you tell me the basic details"

"Vihaan Singhania is the head of the family. His wife Diya Singhania. Two daughters Drishti and Damini. They are from Mumbai" Shravan said

"Will get back to you in two days Sir" the PI said and Shravan hung up the call

He felt slightly guilty at the thought going behind her back, but Isha had managed to sow some seeds of doubts in his mind.

He need to be sure as his mother already seems to be attached to the girl.

He can't have her hurt his mother in any way.

He walked into the bedroom to find Drishti lying on the bed with her phone

And he heard weird sounds coming from the phone??

What is she watching

He listened closely and then realised it was of a Cow. Then he heard a Hen. Then a goat.

What in the bloody hell??

"What are you watching??" He asked

"I'm playing" she said

"It's a game?? Game with animals??" He asked and wondered why was he even having this conversation with her

Wasn't he the one who asked her to give time to think whether he wants to get to know her or not??

"Not only animals. There are fields with vegetables. There's a winery. Actually I have reached the level where we can make wines just now" Drishti crowed in triumph

Shravan stared at her in bewilderment. How old is she anyway?? Why is she playing games suited for little girls.

Why does it even matter.

Shravan shook his head and settled with his laptop on the recliner.

As he sat down he got a mail from Isha.

'Vihaan Malhotra rejected our offer again' he read and cursed under his breath

'Improvise the offer and send it again.Make it something he wouldn't be able to refuse'

Drishti saw him again glued to the blasted laptop and twisted her mouth in annoyance

"I want to sleep" Drishti said out loudly gaining his attention

"I didn't stop you" he replied without taking his eyes off the screen

"I can't sleep with the light on" she said

"Switch it off and sleep" he said off handedly as he continued typing on his laptop

Drishti switched off the light and settled herself on the bed

"The light from the laptop is disturbing me" she said irritating the hell out of him

"What in the bloody hell is your problem. Can't I even work peacefully in my own home. Are you always this irritating or is it just me??" He asked angrily as he stood up from the recliner and walked out of the room without even waiting for her response.

He is already irritated with Vihaan Malhotra's stubbornness. He doesn't have the time to deal with Drishti's childishness

Drishti stared at the door furiously

How dare he talk like that to her.

Why in the hell does he have a study at home if he wants to sit in the bedroom and work.

A study he had prohibited her from entering, note the point.

She sighed as she leaned against the pillows

Did she go overboard with her irritating??

Should she go and say sorry??

But she always irritates people and they never get angry. Infact they love it

Siddhu would act to be angry with her ,but she knows he loves it when she plays her pranks on him and irritate him

Her Paa and Maa would smile shaking their head when she does things to irritate them.

But then she doesn't usually irritate strangers and though Shravan happens to be her husband he is actually a stranger.

And he didn't even want to work on their marriage, then how could she irritate him like that

She stood up from the bed and walked towards the study all set to apologise

She opened the door and Shravan looked up at her angrily

"What now??" He asked in exaserpation.

"I wanted to -"

"Drishti, I'm already tensed with a very important deal. I don't have time to deal with your childishness. Grow up for heavens sake" Shravan said

Ouch!!

That hurts.

"I'm.. I'm sorry" she mumbled and walked back to the bedroom

Drishti wiped her tears that wouldn't stop flowing

No one had ever talked to her like that.

Is she really so childish??

Why did he have to shout at her like that??

It's not as if she was purposely trying to irritate him

Okay!! Maybe she was. But that's because he was ignoring her. How could he so easily block her out

Siddhu was right. She is an attention seeker

"You simply want to be the centre of attention in everyone's life Drishti" she told herself as angry tears ran down her cheeks.

Who's she angry with?? Herself or Shravan??

Shravan couldn't concentrate anymore.

He read the same line again and again and finally gave up trying to work.

Did he over react??

He shouldn't have talked to her like that.

He shouldn't have taken his frustration due to Vihaan Malhotra on Drishti.

He closed his laptop and walked to his room and found it dark

He switched on the bedside lamp and saw Drishti curled up in a ball.

When he looked closer he saw the dried tear marks on her cheeks and his heart clenched.

He made her cry.

He sat next to her on the bed and wiped her cheeks gently

"I'm sorry" he mumbled and on an impulse he dropped a feather light kiss on her forhead

She sighed in her sleep and a small smile curved up on his lips.

She is adorable

In her sleep she took his hands in hers and placed it against her cheeks and snuggled into it

She is such a baby.

He tried to extricate his hands without waking her and that's when he noticed her bracelet. It looked more like a friendship band. But what caught his attention was the letters S and D carved on in

A smile bloomed on his face seeing that.

When did she buy it?? Just two days into marriage and she got a band with their initials carved on it??

That's so immature, he thought smiling to himself.

Did she get a counterpart of it for him?? Will she expect him to wear it??

He remembered Mithran's girlfriend during college days used to do such crazy things. Couple t shirts. Couple key chain. Couple bands.

And when it reached a stage where she wanted to have a couple tattoo, Mithran had oh so graciously said goodbye to her.

He slowly took his hands out of her grips and covered her with the duvet, switched the night lamp off and got on the other side of the bed and slept with a slight smile on his face.
