" Hey, John you want some food?" Derek asked as he climbed out of the water. "Hell yeah, you know I'm always down for some food!" he replied while swimming over to the bank. As they started to pull out some hotdogs to cook the figures in the trees decided it was time to make their move. Branches began to break off in the distance causing boy boys to stand up and look in the tree line. Sounds continue to grow louder and are all around them. "Derek, do you see anything?" a nervous John asked. Not wanting to take any chances by sticking around Derek quickly grabs his stuff and looks and John signaling it was time to go. John pours water onto the fire to put it and both boys were running off into the wood as fast as they could, not wanting to look back as they hear something running after them.
When Derek saw the end of the path relief started to fill him until he noticed John was no longer behind him. He knew it would be too late to run and get help instead Derek ran back into the woods hoping to find his friend. The dark path began to get harder to navigate the more he panicked. Soon Derek started seeing a faint orange glow of a campfire up ahead. Being cautious he slowly crept between the tree until he saw 3 figures standing around with John tied up on the ground. " I'm not much of a fight but surely if I get to John the two of us might be able to fight them off." he began to think to himself. After taking a few deep breaths Derek ran straight ahead with a branch in his hand with only one thought in his mind "I've got to help him".
The three strangers started to smile without a care in the world as they saw Derek run toward them. With all of his strength, he swung the branch at the closest figure but the stranger grabbed the branch with one hand and Derek by the throat with the other. As the man held Derek in the air a sinister smile appeared on his face revealing a set of fangs. It was at this moment Derek could see the man's eyes glowing with a deep red hue. Soon Derek passed out from the pressure of this man's grip around his throat cutting off his breathing. Derek's eyes slowly started to open as he heard muffled screams but it was too late. The scene in front of him now was worse than any horror movie then he had seen. John was being devoured by the three figures while he was still alive. He wanted to save his friend but fear had frozen him unable to look away with tears running down his face.
"Look at what we have here. Are you enjoying the show?" the vampire asked Derek as John's blood was still dripping from his chin. FUCK YOU!!!! That was all Derek could say as he was lying on the ground. The stranger still smiling picked Derek up with one hand with ease. "I'm going to enjoy this." stated the figure. Derek could only think to do one thing and headbutted the man in the face but it did as the man started to laugh. "You have got some fight in you! How about we welcome you into our family!" The man bit his own hand and shoved it into Derek's face forcing the blood into his mouth. Derek's whole body started to tense up as he felt every molecule changing causing extreme pain and a burning sensation to course through him. "The pain will soon dissipate then all that is left will be for you to feed and you will be one of us." Derek fell to the ground holding his stomach in pain letting out a scream " Someone please help us!!!!!"
the stranger laughed " No one will save you now you belo.....". His words stopped and he screamed, " What are you doing here you traitor?" On the edge of the tree line a tall slender female slowly began walking toward the group with a sword on her back. " I've come for the three of you so why don't we get to it, sweetheart." with a smile on her face she dashed forward. In mere seconds she was upon the man with her sword drawn slashing it down cutting the man in two. Once again Derek passed out after seeing this from the pain he was experiencing. After a few moments, the unknown woman had dealt with the other two strangers placing her sword on her back again. "Hey kid, wake up!" She said while gently raising him off the ground. "Where is John?" was the first words out of his mouth when he came to. Jumping up he ran to his friend only to see he was no longer moving. "DAMN IT!!!!" he shouted while he punched the ground.
His fist went into the ground at least a foot deep like it was paper. Stunned he looked at the woman who was standing beside him smiling. "What is happening to me?" he asked. "If you want I can help you by teaching you to control your newfound strength and give you the skills to help things like this from ever happening again. This path will not be easy and the sensations will only get stronger so I'll give you a choice. Run from what you have become and fight the urge to kill as long as you can but, make no mistake the urge will come no matter what you won't be able to stop it on your own. The second option come with me accepting my teachings and helping me kill every one of these monsters. As of now, you haven't fully turned so you still have a chance to help others. make your choice now." Derek with his head down "Are these people really vampires they actually exist?" The young woman just nodded to confirm his thoughts. "I'll come with you so I can kill every last one of these monsters." Derek said with a determined look in his eye. "What's your name kid?" She asked. "My name is Derek." He replied "Welcome to the hunters Derek. My name is Rena."
