Eventually, we arrived at the edge of Enfernius, and we descended to the port city of Werkenleim. Sakimi was feeling much better now, almost as if she hadn't even been through mana poisoning.
"We'll have to cross another ocean if we want to get to Puratorius," I said.
Sakimi asked, "What are the chances we get kidnapped again?"
"High."
"High?! What do you mean high?!"
"It's reverse psychology," I said. "If I say we have a high chance of getting kidnapped, we won't get kidnapped. It's as opposed to saying we have a low chance of getting kidnapped. In that case, we're sure to run into trouble."
"I don't think that's how it works," Sakimi replied.
"Shush. That's how it works."
Sakimi shrugged. "Oh, well."
