Ash himself didn't enter the forest instead he sent all of his 3,000 shadows to look for Spirit Beasts whose rank was above 5th rank. Meanwhile, Ash was looking at His former friend Jones Miller's reaction on losing his bodyguard and his slave.
Ash was secretly watching everything through his shadows.

After eating Dinner Ash went back to the Forest of darkness. Ash was about see everything in darkness because of his Shadow Monarch powers. Ash came here because his shadows had found 8th rank Wind Roc bird.
The Wind Roc cannot cultivate. They born was 5th rank spirit beasts, as they matures their ranks also increases. According to the legend, this Bird is a foreign beast. A mature wind Roc has 10 to 15 meters long wingspan.
Wind Roc birds are extremely difficult to catch, even a 9th rank expert's speed is slower than a 8th rank Wind Roc. Wind Roc birds used wind magic to increase the speed of their flight.
The Wind Roc Shadows found was a 8th rank spirit beast. Wind Roc looked injuried and was bleeding. The shadows speed wasn't enough to keep following it.

After putting the wind Roc into the space, Ash sighed relief. Ash then wore the Akatsuki robe and a mask, then took out his kusanagi sword. Ash knew that his two 9th rank experts was from Miller clan as they had Miller clan high elder badge on them.
After few seconds two 9th rank experts came. " Boy, where did the Wind Roc bird went?" One of the 9th rank experts asked after saw Ash. Ash didn't reply, he just calmly looked at the two 9th rank experts. Ash attitude made both 9th rank experts feel very angry.
