Jacob slept that night.
The next morning he decided to tell his mother that he had signed up.
He immediately regretted it.
She went on a long tangent lecturing Jacob on his recklessness. His mother was soft-spoken with him and never raised her voice too much.
'Women are scary. How can she hide her true personality like this, what if she was still strong as she was? Would she force everyone on the ship to do her bidding? How far does her arrogance lie? '

He turned to his mother and began spouting everything he could do to convince her. After struggling to convince her for a few hours she eventually had to leave for work.
